models and skins from rome total war?

True, textures might be a possibilty if copied and pasted, but i think he just wanted to use the .dds files themselves, and M2Tw uses .texture files not .dds.

Yes, as we cannot edit M2TW mdoels yet, and from the initial research into it it looks like they are in a completely different way. It would probably take someone with a lot of skill a long time to convert them once we can edit .mesh files, thats if we could convert them.

Most of the times the work to convert a model from one game to another is so substantial that it's easier to create one new from scratch, maybe using the older one as reference.

Then you should add that polycount between RTW and MTW2 is different and probably RTW models would look very poorly once into MTW2.
