This is mainly for the Heg Team: What about your mod excites you the most? I know you probably cannot say or release some info, but is there anything you guys are willing to throw us that may be unknown at this time or something you guys may have said that no one noticed or something. I know everyone loves the concept of this mod just for being Greek and in the Classical Period, not to mention the map, but is there anything else?

I may be reaching, but maybe its worth a shot.

Oh yeah, a few months ago I made a pledge to not play RTW/Bi until this mod releases, and I stand firm. Anyway, no matter what the release date or next preview, this mod is bound to kick some serious romp.

    Whatcha got?

Yeah I think that is a good Idea!

Me wants some updates too, and I havent played BI a long time! Make me reinstall it (the clean 1.6 copy is already there for a few months, and its name is already Hegemonia: City States)

I am studying Latin but no Greek so tell me does the Greek version pronounce: Hègemonia; poleis kratein?

    Quinctius.

Or more accurately Hegemonia: ΠΟΛΕΙΣ ΚΡΑΤΗ. If you take latin then you'll get it, its not cities warring but cities currently in the state of war aka cities of war (hence the dative of krate).

doesn't "poleis" mean "cities" and "krate" "mighty"?

I'm learning ancient greek at school and according to our books kratos means mighty

'Kratos' is a neuter noun meaning 'power'. 'Krate' is the neuter plural. Hence 'poleis krate' means 'city states' (being apposite nouns).

I don't think you're right Zenith, the neuter plural is usually -α in ancient greek, and krate can mean cities in control or at war interchangably. I'm no expert though, pm our scholars if you really want to know.

I just looked it up in my dictionary ^^

Kratos means: diligence, strength, power, force, might, reign, superiority, supreme command, ruler, act of violence

and yes, the neutral plural is usually -alpha but where do you get the eta from (in poleis krate) it is no neutral plural/singular form, but "kratos" is neutral (although it ends with -os)

or is krate from kratys (the adjective form of kratos), but then it is the feminine dative singular ending...

Or optionally from the old word for war as I said in the beginning, feminine noun.

As long as we're discussing something Heg related be thankful...

Anyways to answer the thread I'd have to say the immersion excites me. The more we add to give it that feel you all want the more I think: hey look, we made a video game. How are we currently doing that? Well you're right, that's classified.
