Default Travel time / Movement points

If we want reality in this mod movement points for armies/agents would have to be much higher than they are now.

Look at some interesting messages about medieval travel here:
    http://www.florilegium.org/files/TRAVEL/travel-msg.html

Or simply enough crusade times in wiki :

So basically a travel by ship should reach middle east in one year/two turns from the middle of Europe and travel on foot 1 to 3 years.

I personally use 800 movement points for all armies and agents and 1500 for ships and its fun.
No more lost agents and such boring stuff.

Also merchant trade should be increased as to make merchants very desirable.
Perhaps the merchant trading the resource somewhere should be seen as kingdom controlling the resource and trading with other kingdoms rather than sending it home.
In my humble opinion one gold mine should be able to support one decent half stack army.

The main reason that travel times is not 'realistic' is for gameplay. With 800 points, the instant a faction wants to attack, they just move right in to siege your settlement. It doesn't give you the opportunity to meet them in the field.

Having mines that powerful would be rather unbalancing unless they were more plentiful.

The issue with extremely powerful merchants is that it quickly makes the factions with more provinces very rich. They get to build more merchants and basically all the other factions fall behind. There has to be some balance or certain factions will just clean up.
