That's nice. Attack some African minor that hasn't gone into a grand alliance or coalition against you, and the opportunity for AE-free land becomes endless.

Hands down my most successful game of Victoria 2 ever. I basically just curb stomped everything from the start of the game. Glory to the 2nf French Empire! Headed of course by the Bonnaparts (I usually keep the Royalists in power, but switched to Socialists in the last few years to build a ton of tank factories). For some odd reason a ton of my army randomly dispread like 30 seconds before the game ended, but I had about 725 brigades in my standing army lol.
And yes, that's French Canada you see.
Wth happened to Austria, it looks like they became a blob and exploded (with their Baltic port :p )

My Italian Empire in Victoria II. I had some pretty long sturggles with other Powers for Africa (I lost the entirety of East Africa to Spain but they're in my SoI so it doesn't really matter anymore) and a few really ugly wars for Gibraltar and Singapore with the British. Luckily I managed to basically desintegrate Austria-Hungary fairly early into the game and after building up the Regia Marina I could prevent the british armies from India from grinding me down by effectively becoming the dominant power at sea and therefore being able to block basically any route into and out of the mediterranean sea.

The Austrians wisely allied with me, the glorious French! And as such, were able to enjoy the spoils of the total ass whopping I handed the Prussians time and time again. The Austrians took back all that land you see, and at one point in time were the 2nd Power (me being the first obviously). Unfortunately for them, the SGF rebelled at the same time as the Italians got a crown from the gutter event (which pissed me off to no end as I had very carefully managed to status que in the region, not wanting to upset the balance. It was hard enough to keep Russia and Austria allied, I knew I couldn't hold those damn Italians back). The resulting war, of which i was not able to come to the rescue of, was pretty devastating for all parties, and Austria never really recovered.
They were able to retake all their Italian lands in the 2nd Great War (aka, The War for Pretty Borders), and recovered a bit, but then in 1934 the Hungarians broke free after I decided to back Russia in a crisis (I had kept all 3 of us allied, and was able to counterbalance each sides constant opposing of each other in crisis up until now) because honestly Austria was starting to fail by this point and I felt the Russians were the better end of the deal, though I made sure the Russians were unable to sphere Hungary so Austria could reconquer them if they so
The Dutch ended up there more because there was no one else that well developed rather than their own awesomeness. I beat the crap out of the Dutch in half a dozen wars, took Wallonia, and ate their East Asian islands, though they were able to colonize Boreno and Papua while I was off colonizing Africa.
I couldn't do that. I always get vindictive when I see old enemies rebounding, even if I was bullying them.
They would kneel before Zod.
I wouldn't exactly say they rebuilt lol. Plus I beat the crap out of Germany and GB like 17 times lol.
I wanted it . Much coal, such industry.

Hadn't played EU4 for a while and was bored, so decided to pick up England with the following houserules:
- Must lose the HYW.
- Other than the lands England starts with, no direct control over lands on the continent. Original lands lost on the continent cannot be regained.
Also decided to play on Ironman to get some achievements, because before it forced cloud saves which was a no-go, but now it's offline it's feasible to do it.

PU over Russia was a complete fluke and came out of nowhere. France tried to stop me at the time but they were never going to seize Moscow and the blockades on them meant I actually forced demands on them. After that however, Russia actually meant I never beat France again and it turned into a monster. It got PU's over Poland and Aragon (no event united it with Castille), the former by contesting and stealing it from Castille. Every time I tried to go with France for the rest of the game, they just zerged Russia and got an insane amount of warscore. My nation being naval focused meant I had no chance of doing much outside of blockading them. Eventually they ended up at war with the Ottomans and decided it'd be a great time to make their borders even uglier.
Brittany is also in PU. I should also have made Japan/Shun protectorates but I was focused in Europe at the end, because I ended up in a trade war with the Hansa and realised I was at war with 3 electors, whom I vassalised. Realising that Emperor Thuringia's King was about 25 and I had 10 years left, I decided the appropriate action to the OPM minor Emperor was to attack them and claim the title for myself. I spent most of the war taking their various allies out (Tuscany, Milan, Netherlands, Lithuania), but by the time it was safe to siege them, Austria had attacked and occupied them, meaning I couldn't depose them. Unable to DoW Austria (can't DoW HRE members while at war with another member, really annoying), I attempted to DoW their Ottoman allies. They dishonoured, due to being attacked by everyone (well, France at least). I then decided to DoW their Castillian allies, and they honoured. Immediately assaulted Thuringia, vassalised them, and became HRE with about 6 months to spare.
Fun game. Being a first Ironman game I was also focusing on getting achievements rather than being optimal (for example, coring India is a waste when I can get enough for trade companies and protectorate the rest, but I wanted Master of India), but anyway, fun game.

Edit: Decided I would let the remaining years run out, now that I've got a new PC where IM end-game doesn't slow to a crawl with the auto-saves. Couldn't quite annex all those vassals sadly.

Told you you'd make it
Behold the great kingdom of Syracuse, currently crushing the Umbrians and establishing a foothold in central Italy. Many things have happened: the Illyrian Ardiaei invaded the peninsula and freed their brothers from Roman yoke. The Etruscan League took advantage of the instability within Rome and captured the city of Veii. In the East, the Makedonians, still under the control of the Antipatrids, have regained Paeonia, but have lost the important city of Amphipolis to the Lysimachids.
Shameless self promotion, Hobbes. :p
