I thought this was extremly cool:

It gave me a 100% navy tradition and enabled me to invade Swedish held Skåne and Halland (I played a 1661 scenario)

i want to keep balance for HOI2.
victoria is way more complicated than eu3 ... after all these wars that look all successful, im in one hell of a major debt which french and prussian war indemnities are helping to pay back heh.

rebels spawning all over the place too because i spent most of the war fighting with 100% war exhaustion and the russians look like theyre going to be warring me next because they signed defensive alliance with prussians while i was fighting them.

I used to have a great map pack for Victoria...if GB loses Scotland or Ireland, the parts of the Union Jack that are taken from their flags are removed...also, nearly every nation in the world has flags specific to being vassals of certain great powers (USA, GB, France, Austria, Russia come to mind), in addition to implementing...new and/or better govt specific flags. I know the vanilla Victoria doesn't always have them, which is annoying. Monarchist USA was neat...

A nice way to keep your people happy is to subsidize for them. Pushes down the cost of goods so their personal wealth gets higher. Very good way to get capitalists moving if you're in a laissez-faire or protectionist government.

In this way you can tax your people a bit higher than the normal max of 40% or so and keep them happy and productive. Alternatively, if you're rich enough off of industry, just lower taxes and subsidize and the people will love you, unless there are certain other factors involved, aka pluralism being incompatible with Monarchies, Presidential dictatorships, etc.

subsidise would be putting the tarrifs into negative i guess.

thats what im doing when im not attempting to pay back debts or fighting wars anyway.

    Anyway.
It was all Caracks or what ever they are called.

I thought it was a easy victory, I didn't even look at the battle, more concerned with the land one.

I'm not entirely sure what the big deal is with that fleet. I guess they're big numbers given the sizes of the two empires, but late in some of my games I've had naval battles where 300 ships have been involved. I lost 100 ships in one battle. Did things get scaled back in NA or something?

100 ships?? That is cool, in my current campaign 10 ships are very large ready.

Anyway, I need help for Castile. I declared war against Ganada in the begin of game and managed to vassaled them, but Portugal immediately attacked me once I was finishing dealing Ganada, and the war of Portugal brought in England and Brittany. Then when I finally conquered all Portugal after 5 years and reduced it into a pity state, Aragon and Morroca declared war at me for no reason... Now can someone suggest me how to deal a two fronts war with each sides 10k of enemy (I have 10k of troops too)?? I seriously want to be a peach-lover in the game but the AI just do not let me be... I want to be a colonial power!!!

To deal with Morocco, just blockade the land bridge around Gibraltar, that will stop them sending troops out of Africa.

Do Aragon still have Sicily, if they do, try to get a revolt going.
Sicily gaining independence will **** them up something serious.

    A hint.
Blockade Sicily and Southern Italy, to stop Aragon sending troops to surpress the revolt.

Thanks, but the situation is (1) my navy was gone during my last Portugal conflict (2) Morroca already landed 10k in Iberia.

Even that's not that large; in my portugese campaign, each of my wars with burgandy would open with their navy decimating mine (which was usually about 150-200 ships, split 75% light 25% heavy, based on which provinces could build heavies in a year). I could build fifty or so a year, but quickly got tired of clicking 'build' so many times, and made do with a smaller force

Each and every time, I'd come so close to winning, but then burgandy would pull up some more fleets from god knows where, pop in an excellent admiral, and take me out with a couple of hundred transports

nobody ever 100+ amount of ships to face me that i can remember

there is something satisfying though about seeing 200 units of soldiers or ships spawn all across the empire though heh.

And something decidedly unsatisfying in seeing that your dozen or so ten-unit armies can only barely push back the enemy forces on land to grab a few provinces...than seeing all their gains be wiped away as the enemy navy blockades every one of your coastal ports (absolutely no fun when you have all of South/Central America, Iberia, Africa)

In a certain online campaign I am currently participating in, fighting in the balkans had horrendous casualties. Burgundy and I, Italy, were assailed by Persians and Ottomans. 60,000 dead on both sides in Karnten alone. 18,000 of my italians dead in Istria.
And yet we pushed them out of europe and into asia minor, booya.
