Pourqoui?
Excuse my french lol, but i have a little problem.
I have downloaded RTR to use the Symbols they have, the strange thing is that i replaced everything in the banners folder, the symbols in the loading screen folder, the symbols in the menu folder, and the banners in the model folder.
Strange thing is that it works for some factions, but not others. It does not work for GCS, julii, scipii, brutii, gaul or germania, but it works for everyone else, what is the cause of something like this? :hmmm:

Re: Pourqoui?
It's because some stuff in descr_sm_factions is referenced to different files.
It would be nice if you'd show which files didn't work and where, filenames are crucial also.
There are symbols/banners etc in these locations:
-data/banners/ - no idea what these do, never seen them affect anything...
-data/loading_screen/symbols/ - loading screen symbols
-data/menu/symbols/ - these are little version of the symbols for custom battles, the faction selection menus
-data/models/textures/ - the big faction banners on characters and hovering over units
-data/models_strat/textures/ - the little banners over cities on strat map
-data/UI/ROMAN/INTERFACE/ - all the little icons in the alliances/battle etc tabs
-data/UI/CAPTAIN BANNERS/ - the little banners to replace general faces in battles...
hope this helps
P.S. if you want to edit models_strat, you need to import a CAS file, link it to your texture in 3ds Max and then export with a custom name...
these can be changed from descr_sm_factions.txt

Re: Pourqoui?
RedFox is correct. The only faction symbol changed in XGM (so far) is the Macedonian one, but some of the changed files contain several faction symbols. These are the ones that are not changing for you.

Re: Pourqoui?
Well after backing up the files in question, I have pasted the RTR files into the RTW directory, that seems to make them work, mostly. It appears that all of the battle banners work, the city symbols work, but some things do not, it is not a big deal, i will play around with it some more, maybe find some different symbols, I thank you all for the replies

Re: Pourqoui?
It seems that Roman Securam (Sp? really off i know) has excellent banners for the Romans, but the vanilla banners really need replacing, they are just bland now.
