How to add Pre-battle speeches?
Can someone explain to me how I can add new speeches, with the text file and everything.

Re: How to add Pre-battle speeches?
the text file you need to look at is
export_descr_sounds_prebattle.txt
you'll see in that there are some randomly selected speeches and some that relate to traits the general has, they are all also divided by culture.
The existing sound files are packed in rtw/data/sounds, you need
Vercingetorix's IDX extractor to view them
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...?do=file&id=32
Once they are unpacked the ones you may wish to change will be in:
Rome - Total War\Data\sounds\data\sounds\Voice\Human\Localized\Pre_Battle_Speech
though file on that path is not read by game.
To get new files in game I'm not sure if you have to repack them with others, or if using mod0.pak, or adding different file path to text file would work. Perhaps someone else can advise on that bit.
You may also need to delete / rename or create empty events.dat file, you have to if you change music and I'm not sure if this needs it too.

There's no need to repack these (or any audio) files.
