Does an army suffer attrition in the desert/snow even when being in the fortified stance in DEI?

A question for members who have enough experience playing the DEI mod:
In Divide Et Impera, does an army suffer attrition in the desert or in the snowy winter even if the army is in the fortified stance? If so, is the attrition pace just reduced? What happens if that army has a baggage train attached?

I know in vanilla an army doesn't suffer attrition in the desert or in the snowy winter if you put the army in the fortified stance

I already tested it in a DEI campaign recently:
An army doesn't suffer attrition both in the desert and in the snow in case that army has a baggage train attached and if it's in the fortified stance on the map.
