what will be the benefit of going down the line where you produce more resources compared to the other line where you get more income? For example the gold resource building the gold mine complex has you producing more gold talents and is good for trade agreements, but the gold repository gives 1400 in commerce and is independent of any trade agreements you might have while the gold mine complex is dependent on the trade agreements and if ai cancels trade all the gold talents you produce means nothing

You can make a lot of cash later in the game from trade. It depends on how you want to specialize.
