It's 280 B.C. The Greeks of Magna Graecia have asked help from Pyrrhos to fight the rising Roman Republic. After assembling his expeditionary force, including some of the best men Greece has to offer and even war elephants, alongside allied italic nations, Pyrrhos, the Eagle of Hellas and the Roman Titan stand against each other near Herakleia. The Pyrrhic War has officially begun...
What is the Eagle and the Wolf?
The Eagle and the Wolf is a project for an overhaul of the Rise of the Republic DLC for Total War Rome II, changing its focus to the Pyrrhic War, aiming to recreate them inside Rome II. The team's main areas of focus are:
- Extensive research for historical accuracy. This mod in order to be successful in the eyes of the team will be created according to historical books and real stories. Since this is a computer game after all (and given that there are some holes in the historical manuscripts), some liberties will have to be taken, but only for functionality/gameplay purposes.
- Overhauled Economy and Building Functions
- 24 TPY
- Overhauled Equipment and a Custom Population Mechanic
- Overhauled Agriculture
- New resources, including wheat, copper, pottery
- Various Events and Government Actions (if you have played Demetrios Poliorketes then you should have an idea of what to expect in that regard)
- Bug Fixes left over from Rome II itself (Athanasios is the master of bug fixing, so we will make sure that nothing eludes his grasp )
As said above, the Rise of the Republic DLC will be used for this mod. We can show you the starting positions of the 5 main factions: Pyrrhos, Rome, Syracuse, Carthage and the Samnites. Additionally, the Etruscans, the Ligurians and the Boii will also be playable among others
To end this preview, you will find some sneak peeks on the units of Pyrrhos (Some assets you see in the screenshots have been provided by Baklazan)
