I really liked Rome: TW so of course i got curious if Medieval: Total War is just as good (i know the graphics isnt as good, of course). Which is the best in the series?

    Thanks!

imo, altho MTW was a trend setter for its time, it has been passed by RTW. You mentioned the graphics, which are far and away better in RTW, but there has been as much or more of an improvement on the campaign map. Overall, if Rome is a 10, I would give MTW (at this time) a 6.

Well I thought that MTW was great. But RTW way out beats it. THe campaign map is alot more realistic and the graphics are awesome.

I loved Medieval and sunk way too many hours into it.

But even in its fully patched state it doesn't compare to Rome on release.

MTW may be of worse quality but I surely have it in my heart with a better grade than RTW.

I don't think many of us would be able to go back to MTW after playing Rome.

MTW was very good, but RTW does surpass it. That said, MTW has a sort of complete, polished feel that most modern games like RTW lacks. (maybe i just feel that because of my laggy cursor, huh. )

I for one prefer MTW. Not by much...after some modding to RTW Im sure this will change. Ill always prefer the campaign map of MTW though, but im pretty sure I am the only one.

After playing RTW for a few days I would say that RTW gets a 10 on the scale, while MTW gets a 8. IMO only the graphics is better, but im a little disapointed on gameplay. Maybe it will change after playing some more.

    A month isn't a very long time

    Vurt,

If you have any interest in the Napoleanic era, there is a great Napoleanic mod for MTW available. FYI.

MTW's multiplayer was FAR superior to RTW's in its current state.

MTW had a more finished feeling campaign. right now the RTW campaign on huge unit setting isnt what it should be.

RTW is better, or could/should be better, but it has some issues that take it down a notch in fun factor.

Sorry to sound a little bit herectic these days. But giving the discount on MTW's release time and Rome release time MTW is a superior game IMO. There are several aspect of rome i do not like including the vital tactical battles which i enjoyed more in MTW.

I don't play MTW anymore but it was a great game, especially with BKB's mod added on. And I probably preferred that campaign map too.
