Default About Classified Ads & Modders' Profiles

    Classified Ads & Modders' Profiles
This forum is for users to advertise their team and its recruitment needs, and the Modders' Profiles subforum is for modders to present their profiles including their background and what they are willing to do.

You may wish to consider additional outlets to get attention for your modding project especially if it is well into development, such as a front page announcement or a local announcement appropriate the game being developed for. A link back to the thread you created here in such an announcement is acceptable. You might also consider creating a page for your mod on the Wiki or updating it if one exists, so the project can get more attention and have a consistent resource.

In good advertising it is essential to be clear what you're working with and what you're offering/expecting, so threads in either forum should be clean and strike a good balance in presentation while remaining usable.

Bear in mind the golden rule - the project MUST be associated with TWC (in a forum, presence in a particular thread, so forth) and the objective MUST NOT be to siphon off entirely to another platform, be it a modder only registering to use TWC as an ambient traffic platform or a mod team with no significant interest in TWC. You are welcome to operate here - if there is something we can improve or consider to make things more desirable, please message a member of staff, such as a member of Hex (in bold bright red).

In the spoilers you will find basic templates with the information that is expected from threads. You may of course adjust based on needs, within reason.

    Spoiler for project profiles...

Mod Name: Mod name along with platform. Must be hyperlinked to the mod's subforum or the mod's thread, if a subforum has not been granted yet.

Modder Type Needed: A list of positions or tasks the mod needs help with, along with level of required experience for each and some details if necessary.

Mod Progress: The Mod Team's overall progress with the mod, such as; Just started, Small, Average, Good, Released

Mod Team Leader(s): List of of the Team's leaders and/or the appropriate contact(s), hyperlinked to their profiles. Relevant discord server or other appropriate point of contact is accepted.

Notes: Any additional comments or information the Team wants to add.

    Spoiler for modder profiles...

Field of Expertise: What aspect of modding do you offer to help out with? Possible categories: General coding, scripting, 2d, modeling, mapping, research, writer. You can specify a subcategory if you like, for example 2d - unit cards.

Skill level: How good you are on what you do. Don't be afraid to tell the truth, most people offer to help in order to improve their skills, so it is perfectly fine if you are not a master yet. Possible skill levels: Low, Average, High

Availability: How often and for how long can you work on a project, if you are 'hired'?

Experience: Mods you have worked on/are working on, previous modding work, links to relevant forums or threads.

Here in the Classified Ads you'll want to prefix your thread based on the game(s) the modding team is developing for, such as (TW:M2) or (TW:E).

In the modding profiles you should title based on your username and if you like, shorthand for the game(s) you work with and your key talents (see existing threads there for an idea of what's accepted).

This pin's content is inspired and partially drawn from previous pins, including this one (primarily for suggested content) and this one.

Profiles should stick to the above guidelines and may be adjusted to better follow them or be moved/removed if they are too unclear or inappropriate for the section. If you have any questions for how this area works, please ask in this thread or alternatively message a moderator, such as myself.
