Pro-Russian sources admitted that Ukraine controls almost the entire western bank of the Oskil River.

Izyum is in artillery range from 3 sides.

Supply routes running from Belgorod to Lyman are also in artillery range.

    The front is collapsing.

The goal was to reach nova kakhovka which failed with big losses
That was their goal on day 1 2 20? All offensives suffer losses.

Even Ukranian Capitulation would still give Putin informal power as Tzar of Russia&Central Europe, all he has to do is say some things about pipelines and the prices go crazy. Bigger effect than mentioning nukes.. Ironically his life taught him to disdain the leverage of markets.

Giving yet another confirmation bias to the Tzar of Russia&Central Europe might have hard to predict consequences.
To make him thinking of improving inner situation of his Empire instead of facing cliché over-expansionism risks.. He's forgotten he accumulated much political capital due to Russia's GDP growth in post-Yeltsin phase.

It will be seen that, as used, the word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley's broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else.

The Ukrainians have managed to liberate Izyum city. Russian defenses in Kharkiv just don't seem capable of stopping the Ukrainian attack.

EDIT: I'm seeing some reports on social media and reddit that the Ukrainians have claimed to have surrounded Kherson completely. Don't know how true that is.

Seems a bit difficult to believe the Russian's got suckered so hard into leaving their positions in the north weak and apparently not with any depth. I would think it must also be true Ukraine is spending lives (lots) in the south to makes sure that over telegraphed offensive there was perceived as the only advance and really fix Russian attention.

Also would seem to justify Ukrainian claims for dead KIA and wounded for Russia as there seems to be reaction force to plug the gaps.

It seems difficult to believe, but this Russian Army has been surprising me since day one. Mostly about how horribly it has performed so far.

Well I suppose that is partly the result of a closed system. All you claims and fantasies about your military get swallowed by yourself and others. No pesky reporters or independent investigations or whistleblowers to say err wait this system is a hot mess or moral kinda sucks or maintance money is being siphoned off etc.

The collapse of the Russian forces is mindblowing. The penetration have completely burst their bubble and they are fleeing a huge amount of territory, likely leaving tons of stuff behind, especially given that Izyum was their staging point for operations.

Without full mobilization, RAF is unlikely to achieve anything significatn at this rate. Ukranian army is growing in professionalism, equipment and manpower by the day while Russian forces are losing extreme amounts to attrition. They are already down to cold war reserve equipment that often misfunction. Even if they mobilize manpower, their training and equipment will be questionable. By then, Ukraine can possibly overrun many positions that will become impossible to retake.

Russians still have a massive achilles' heel in Kherson with 3 seperate cauldrons being formed in the area with nowhere to run and difficult to supply position. A second collapse in Kherson would completely ruin Kremlin's dreams.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

What exactly is the Russian Air force doing? Why is it getting any money. I mean really It seems to me a lot Russian soldiers are theoretically at the bit where they radio in 'Broken Arrow' (or whatever the equivalent is for we are being overrun and need all available support now err faster) target at the fence line/on this transmission and it seems nobody is picking up.

Now that Ukraine is beating Russia it's officially a Great Power and therefore entitled to a Sphere of Influence. Russia must surrender and make territorial concessions to save lives.

Never have I thought I’d see Russia reduced to such a pathetic low. What a disgrace.

Unfortunately, this war will last a long time yet.
    ----
Poland is now the US closest ally in Europe. Michal Baranowski, director of the Warsaw office of the German Marshall Fund, says, “Poland will assume the role of the Federal Republic of Germany during the Cold War”
    Poland's role in NATO evolves

Poland goes from zero to hero in EU thanks to Ukraine effort
For the first time in years, Poland is getting some positive press.

Since a long time ago, Poland is Europe’s biggest headache. Things are getting worse now. Poland’s PM is in nonstop mode, shooting in all directions,
Polish Minister Escalates Standoff, Accuses EU of 'Stealing Billions in Funds

End EU 'imperialism': Polish PM launches scathing attack on Brussels as he likens Germany to Russia.

PM attacks Germany over eastern-Europe policy

…saying that if Europe had adopted the German speed of delivering weapons to Ukraine the war have ended long ago with a Russian victory
The support package worth EUR 9 billion for Ukraine is not enough, says the Polish PM. Polish PM says Europe should do more for Ukraine
    ...as definitely insufficient.
Poland asks Germany for war reparations of 1.3 trillion euros

Norway is also under attack, Polish PM Mounts A Scathing Attack On Norway
Poland’s prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki has urged Norway to share the huge profits it has made from oil and gas exports since the Russian invasion of Ukraine
    ---
It’s also the end of the Budapest-Warsaw axis,
Poland's Duda Slams Hungary for Its Policy Toward Russia

It is therefore not surprising that Poland wants to have nuclear weapons on its territory, The nuclear option – why Poland's call for deterrence spells
Poland’s call on the United States to base nuclear weapons on its territory…that doesn’t stop it being a dangerous development that will heighten the tensions and reinforce the policies that led to war, putting Europe at greater risk of wider conflict.
There are two main flaws in this reasoning and between them they bring the world closer to nuclear conflict which, it unfortunately nowadays needs repeating, is an eventuality we should be trying to prevent.
First, massive military build-up on Russia’s borders, officially to deter Russian aggression, has been Nato policy for years.
Aside from the expansion of Nato itself up to the Russian border, this has included increased troop and advanced weaponry deployments to Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the deployment of weapons and training to Ukraine and incorporation of that country into Nato-led military exercises such as the vast Exercise Defender Europe manoeuvres.
Did this deter Russia from attacking Ukraine? Clearly not. Did it provoke Russia to attack Ukraine? Arguably, given Moscow’s repeated protests at the war games and troop deployments and expression of “red lines” that were then crossed.
Russia’s government may be as dishonest as our own, but even those who think its fear of Nato is unreasonable should be able to recognise that it is real and has played a part in this crisis.
That does not for a moment justify Putin’s brutal war, but if the idea is to deter war, it suggests that more military muscle-flexing may not serve the purpose.

Did that article seriously try to argue that NATO stationing troops along Russia's border is what provoked Russia to attack a Non-NATO country in response? That's makes no sense and not even Russia claimed they invaded Ukraine over NATO troops stationed on their borders.

Actually I think I remember that among the lies they were vomiting at the beginning as to why they had to invade. It was all big bad NATO's fault for oppressing poor victimized Russia by existing and foiling it's divine right to conquer Europe.
