Information Thread for Potential Empire Units
Of the Human nations of the Old World, the most important by far is that of The Empire, forged by the warrior-king and ascended deity Sigmar, from the primitive Human tribes of barbarians who inhabited what became the lands of the southern Empire more than 2500 years ago. Although not as skilled in craftsmanship as the Dwarfs or in magic as the High Elves, the people of the Empire are not beholden by the limits of tradition to the same extent as the Dwarfs or High Elves and continue to progress culturally, technologically and magically. Having yet to succumb to any threat, external or internal, it is the faith, the sense of righteousness, and the unconquerable spirit of its citizens which gives the Empire its strength, as well as the ruthless efficiency of its military and religious orders.

Cults of the EmpireSpoiler Alert, click show to read:There are many religious cults in the Empire, though Sigmar is the most commonly worshipped, the rest of the gods tend to get worshipped alongside him. There are some that are obviously secret and outlawed, such as the Chaos gods. For this list, I have ignored the various levels of Priests and Monks, as I would be here all day listing the different levels for the different Cults. I’ve noted down any interesting potential units and assigned them to each cult below.

Legal CultsSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Cult of SigmarSpoiler Alert, click show to read:The Cult of Sigmar is the main religion in The Empire and it worships the first Emperor of Men in that region of the world. As he is the most commonly worshipped god, and his cult the most ingratiated of the religions, there are many groups dedicated to furthering or honouring his cause and traits. Many Knightly Orders worship Sigmar openly.

Brotherhood of Steel = Elite unit linked to the Knights of Sigmar’s Blood
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...gmar%27s_Blood

http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cloaked_Brothers
Hammers of Sigmar = Founded in Altdorf after the news of the destruction of Mordheim, they were sent to the city to restore order and keep the faithful alive through the turmoil. Armoured in burnished steel, wielding lethal hammers in honour of Sigmar. They are shaven headed, they are struggling to recover from the horrendous casualties during the Storm of Chaos.

http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Hunters of Sigmar = A new knightly order dedicated to hunting down Chaos residing in Drakwald Forest, they were formed in the aftermath of the Storm of Chaos. They are expert woodsmen and trackers. They carry everything they may need with them, they are far from a glamorous knightly order as they have little time to care for their own equipment. They gather together in skirmish groups and are often thought to be ragtag bands of freelance knights

http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Knights Griffon = They follow the Cult of Sigmar and are based both in Altdorf and Nuln. They are one of the most militaristic and well-trained Orders in the Empire. http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Knights of the Divine Sword = This is an “ancient temple order of Knights famous for their part in the defeat of Mannfred von Carstien at the Battle of Hel Fenn”. In that battle, the knights were led by the Grand Theogonist, Kurt III. References to the order coming to Hel Fen “all the way from Altdorf” suggest the order is located there although it might only be referring to the Grand Theologist. The Wight Lord, Gothard, known as the Undying Knight, was once a member of the Knights of the Divine Sword.
http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Knights of the Fiery Heart = ”Destriers flashed by the templar. White, wearing red barding. In the saddle, Kastner saw armoured figures in gleaming silver plate. The lead rider carried a standard advertising the host as Knights of the Fiery Heart. Templars out of Altdorf and personal guardians of the Grand Theogonist and the Cathedral of Sigmar. In their plated fists the knights carried the long hafts of silver warhammers. Their tabards bore the striking red of Imperial crosses, the arrow-points of each end terminating in the shape of a heart. The visor sights of their crowned crusader helms were cut to accommodate a similar pattern.”

Knights of the Jade Griffon = "The Order of the Jade Griffon is a templar order presumably devout to Sigmar. Aekold Helbrass, was a former member of the order who turned into a follower of Tzeench." Since they mention the Jade Griffon I assume they are linked to the Grand Theologist in some way, perhaps bodyguards?

Scourge of Sigmar = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. In times of war, they are highly praised by the cult hierarchy, but when peace comes the priests prefer to move them along as quickly as possible, lest they find too many “enemies of God” within the towns of cities

https://www.scribd.com/doc/222984525/Citadel-Journal-30
Templars of Sigmar = Although a Knightly Order, the mysterious group known simply as the Templars of Sigmar are a world away from the warriors in shinning armour of popular image, so much so that they rarely refer to themselves as knights. Instead they battle the foes of Sigmar from the shadows, dealing with subtle and insidious threats such as Chaos cults and reclusive necromancers. In particular they excel at battleing users of sorcery, as magic and trickery are tools often used by the servants of darkness. They often wear black clothes, large rimmed hates and black or brown capes. They favor the use of the pistol and sword but carry many types of weapons

Cult of MorrSpoiler Alert, click show to read:One of the most widespread cults of the Old World. In a land filled with war, disease, and the horrors of Chaos, death is a constant companion, an inescapable end. Most Old Worlders reconcile their natural fears and come to accept death. In the Empire it is said that they have an unnatural fascination with it, incorporating the symbols of the God of the Dead in all things. Necromancers are the ultimate enemies of the Cult of Morr as they steal the dead from the realm of their god, they are often found near to Sylvania fighting the Undead. The members of their priesthood gather every 10 years in the city of Luccini.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Morr
Altar of Morr = Ridden by Arch Lector Davian during Volkmar's Crusade against the undead in Sylvania. Possibly the Morr-devoted version of the Altar of Sigmar ridden by Volkmar.
https://i.imgur.com/4DFJZQS.png White Dwarf 408
Andanti = ”The Andanti are a hereditary order of secretive Vampire Hunters who consider themselves chosen by Morr to be his holy warriors. Membership can be passed on through either sons or daughters, and there is only one Andanti per generation, so although they are all related, they have many names and live in many nations of the Old World.”
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Andanti
Cultists of Morr = Priests of Morr dress in unornamented black robes, which have no indication of rank. A few even train ravens to sit on their shoulders and peer at passers-by. They tend to wear their hair very short, and most are clean-shaven. Augurs are likely exceptions, and can be slightly wild.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Morr#Cultists
Doomsayers = Wandering priests who will perform the last rites for those who would otherwise have no priest, such as treasure hunters killed by traps, villages destroyed by Beastmen and other such dangerous places. These typically travel with a party of adventurers and mercenaries.

http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dreamwalkers
Knights of the Black Rose = A knightly order with links to the death god Morr, they were founded by the Elector Count of Stirland during the Black Plague and their numbers have waned in recent years. Potentially a unit unique to Stirland? They use lances, swords, maces and kite shields.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Knigh...the_Black_Rose
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...the_Black_Rose
Knights of the Raven = Another knightly order devoted to the death god Morr, there are some links between the Black Guard and this order. They are situated in Stirland on the border to Sylvania, where they hunt the undead.
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Morr
Knights of the Sacred Scythe = Well-versed knights in vampire hunting that wander the roads of eastern Stirland. They are in pitch-black armour and armed with a giant scythe. They stop Stirland from toppling into a land of blight and death.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Sacred_Scythe
Order of the Gate = An order of templars dedicated to the fight against undead.
http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Pious Greatswords = Ulrich leads a regiment of Pious Greatswords that are foot templars of Morr. They march into battle in red robes and cowls and their banner depicts the reaper with a scythe and hourglass. Ulrich himself wears black robes marking him as an ordained priest of Morr.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ire_Greatsword
Scourge of Morr = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. In times of war, they are highly praised by the cult hierarchy, but when peace comes the priests prefer to move them along as quickly as possible, lest they find too many “enemies of God” within the towns of cities.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Scourge_of_God
The Black Guard of Morr = Encased within black armour and deathly silent on the battlefield. They are trained in the use of ranged weapons as well as the more common swords and lances of the other knightly orders. They despise the Undead and often hunt them down, they are considered a defensive Order. They -always- fight encased in their armour so models should not have any bare heads showing, they wield great weapons on horseback and halberds on foot. On their webpage, an image of one carrying a crossbow can be found.

The Blessed of Morr = Members of this sect tend to be less public than many flagellants, although they do not keep their beliefs secret. They prefer to inflict constant pain on themselves during daily life, rather than to scourge themselves in public. Pretty much Morr Flagellants.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Blessed_of_Morr
The Fellowship of the Shroud = An unofficial group working in Morr's name is the Fellowship of the Shroud, which is dedicated to actively destroying undead creatures and necromancers. This group, which is organised as a monastic order, is at odds with the less vigorous mainstream cult of Morr, and there is some friction between the two
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Morr
Vampire Hunters = Vampire Hunters are driven souls who seek to destroy the Undead by any means necessary. There is often a dark story behind their passion for slaying the undead, to some it is like a curse

Cult of Taal and RhyaSpoiler Alert, click show to read:The Cult of Taal and Rhya is the sanctioned cult of Talabecland and is wildly popular in the northern and eastern parts of the empire. Talabheim is fervent in it’s worship of both Taal and Rhya. Taal represents power and majesty of nature, both the physical world of stone and wood and the primal urge of life. Rhya is a nurturer of the land. They dislike firearms and other works of science.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Taal_and_Rhya
Celebrants = The fanatics who call themselves Celebrants seek out remote stretches of wilderness to better commune with their deities Taal and Rhya. It’s not that they dislike cities, or other communities, but rather they believe they are closest to their patrons when in the heart of unspoilt wilderness. Essentially Taal Flagellants
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Celebrants
Cultists of Taal and Rhya = Common for cultists to adorn their hair and dress with leaves, flowers, sticks and jewellery carved from natural, organic materials. They tend to wear the garb of a hunt.

Daughters of Rhya = No further information available.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...#Lesser_Orders
Horned Hunters = The rites of Taal demand great physical, emotional, and mental fortitude for its practitioners. The Horned Hunters are deeply zealous and shun the city. Unlike Taal’s Chosen, the Horned Hunters give up much in the way of a material life. They shun normal clothing and wear animal skins, loincloths or less. They undergo extensive tattooing
https://www.scribd.com/document/2472...r-in-Talabheim Warhammer Fantasy 2nd Edition RPG
Kin of Taal = The largest sect of this cult, they are comprised of men who wish to embody aspects of masculinity at its basest level. They’re tasked with protecting “Men’s Secrets” and the mysteries of the wild. They spend a great deal of time consuming alcohol and using hallucinogenic substances. They lead men into the forest to host wild hunting parties
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...and_Rhya#Sects

Scourge of Taal and Rhya = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. Cult of MyrmidiaSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Myrmidia is not really a god of the Empire, but has become commonly worshipped by soldiers of the Empire. Myrmidia has it's seat of power in Estalia but Tilea is also devout towards this goddess, so I’d assume these units could be shared with those factions. It is easily the largest organised cult in the Old World, she is the Goddess of War. The Cult has very limited influence in the Empire.

Each chapter is typically tasked to protect one of the Eagle’s temples, although they also respond to honourable causes as and when they see fit. Because of this, the templars of the order are rarely seen outside of the area they protect

Knights of the Verdant Field = “The knights spend a great deal of time training in rather unusual methods of warfare, unafraid to experiment with ploys, tactics, and equipment other Knightly Orders might overlook or find dishonourable. Many of these Knights are even well-trained archers, a result which lead to the formation of the Knights of the Verdant Field

Order of the Eagle = There, sharp-eyed priests run classes in strategy and warcraft, open to any who wish to attend. They also hold regular services for expatriate southerners (the specific day varies according to local customs, but is often every five days). These services—normally conducted in Classical, Estalian, or Tilean—are more interactive than most, with the priests actively encouraging others to get involved, asking questions of the congregation.

Order of the Shield = This is a small order of Myrmidian templars, little present in the Empire
http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
Scourge of Myrmidia = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. In times of war, they are highly praised by the cult hierarchy, but when peace comes the priests prefer to move them along as quickly as possible, lest they find too many “enemies of God” within the towns of cities
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Scourge_of_God
Shieldmaidens of Myrmidia = The command structure is also central to her teachings, but there are several legends where the Goddess or her Shieldmaidens chose to do what was right, not what they were ordered to. Because of this, although most Myrmidians stick rigidly to orders, they readily ignore them if it will result in a betrayal of their honour.

Warriors of Myrmidia = I thought each should get a cultist unit, I’ve no information on what common cultists of this religion would be like
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...midia#Cultists
Cult of VerenaSpoiler Alert, click show to read:The Cult of Verena is the official organisation dedicated to the Goddess of Justice. Although the Empire and the rest of the Old World face the war, plague, and calamity with disturbing regularity, it is the rule of law and ordered society that enables the Empire and other nations to not only survive, but thrive. Indeed, those who venerate Ulric, and to a lesser extent Sigmar, may be concerned with violence and warfare, but it is the philosophical doctrines of justice espoused by the priests of Verena that prevents the Empire from sliding into a complete tyranny. They are at odds with the Witch Hunters as they collect all written knowledge, while the Witch Hunters believe much should be burned. The Sword is -the- image Verenan’s follow, alongside scrolls.
Cultists of the Sword = Similar to the Warriors of Ulric, a basic militia unit dedicated to the Goddess of Justice. Many members of the Cult carry swords, especially on formal occasions, they usually carry them as they symbolise the Sword of Justice. More devout members take to decorating costumes with fragments of lore or tattooing scripture onto their flesh
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...erena#Cultists
Knights of the Scale and Sword = Members of the order are not merely guards, and can be called upon to actively wield the sword of justice. In this role they help enforce the judgments of Verenan priests, enacting justice at the end of a sword or battling against the agents of tyranny. In times of war or crusade they march along with the other knightly orders
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...word_and_Scale
Knights of the Everlasting Light = A knightly order dedicated to Verena. As Verena’s faithful servants, they hold fairness and justice above all else, however they are a cursed Order. Their curse sees many knights able to survive countless, impossible battles but then dying in embarrassing, pathetic ways. They are blue and gold coloured, and their chapter house is in Altdorf primarily, but used to be in Ostermark.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...rlasting_Light
Knights of the Scroll = They may also be dispatched to recover lost knowledge from dangerous locations, such as in the midst of wars. The knights are often enlisted by the Order of Mysteries to act as bodyguards on their expeditions, protecting the priests from danger. A Knight of the Scroll is instantly recognisable—every inch of their armour is covered in fluttering fragments of scroll or parchment, or quotes painted on their weapons and armour
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._of_the_Scroll
Priest of Verena = A priest devoted to Verena

Scourge of Verena = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. In times of war, they are highly praised by the cult hierarchy, but when peace comes the priests prefer to move them along as quickly as possible, lest they find too many “enemies of God” within the towns of cities
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Scourge_of_God
Scrollbearers = The Scrollbearers fervently believe knowledge is power and actively crave it. They do so by collecting and hoarding as many scrolls, tomes and books as they can get their hands on.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...f_Verena#Sects
Templars of Verena = These Knights are dedicated to the upholding of justice in the name of their patron goddess. The military arm of the order is called The Guardians
http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum...c,17589.0.html
The Defenders of Truth = The Defenders of Truth are the zealots of Verena. They are passionate advocates of the right to freedom of speech, the right to possess books on any subject, and the academic freedom to pursue research into any field. Witch Hunters think they are Chaos cultists in waiting, guilds see them as serious threats, and most lords think of them as dangerous agitators

The Order of Mysteries = No further information available.

Verenan Zealots = They travel the roads of the Empire in the guise of travelling judges, these cultists stir up the local populace to drag those who wrong them in front of ad-hoc courts

http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Scourge_of_God
Sons of Manann = Knightly order dedicated to Mannan and are the most numerous of the knightly orders of that god. They lack the wealth and prestige of the Knights Mariner. Marienburg views them as land-lubbers and lapdogs of the Empire. Their chapter houses are almost exclusively found in the Empire. Clad in turquoise and white-enamelled armour, using cutlasses and bucklers. They ride great white horses, they don’t use lances instead they wield great tridents
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sons_of_Manann
Stormguard = The Stormguard are an order of priests who are devoted to hunting the followers of Stromfels, rooting out his cults and stopping their machinations. Cult of UlricSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Ulric is the God of War, Winter and Wolves, and this cult is second only in power and influence to that of the Cult of Sigmar. Ulric embodies all of mankind’s courage, strength and power in the face of overwhelming odds. He is the brother of Taal. He is predominantly worshipped in the north of Empire; within the province of Nordland, Ostland and especially Middenland. The Priests are warriors and are more than capable of leading men into battle. The leader of the Cult is the Ar-Ulric.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Ulric
Brotherhood of the Axe = This order is made up of only the most devout Ulricans. It is unknown who controls this cult or what its goal is, but most believe it is trying to reserve the Cult of Ulric for only those of Teutogen descent. Another rumour states that the Ar-Ulric is taking orders from this mysterious group
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Ulric
Children of Ulric = They were happy for a brief time. She died bearing Ulric’s child and his howls of grief still ring on the northern wind. Their son was the first of the Shape-strong, the Were, those who can walk as both wolf and man. According to Alexei Dronal, a Knight of the White Wolf, it might carry the echo of truth

Knights of the White Wolf = Barbaric looking knights dedicated to the worship of Ulric, they are the most ancient and largest of the Empire’s knightly orders. They are found in Middenland and Nordland. They only wield their distinctive two-handed hammers. They howl as they charge, sometimes causing fear. They do not wear helms.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...the_White_Wolf
Knights of the Winter Throne = Lesser knightly order within the Cult of Ulric. They have monasteries scattered throughout Nordland, Ostland, Kislev and southern Norsca. These are controversial extremists who will burn food silos believing it is preparing the people for the eternal winter
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Winter_Throne
Scourge of Ulric = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Teutogen_Guard
The Winter Wolves of Middenheim = "In the heart of the Reikwald Forest there lurk many foul and fearsome creatures. However, there also dwell beasts of a more noble heritage that can be harnessed for war by the Knightly Orders of the Empire. Only Knights of the Inner Circle are found worthy to ride to battle on these more exotic and, frankly, ferocious mounts. Some such champions of the orders have long passed into legend - the Winter Wolves of Middenheim, and the Razorbeak-mounted Knights of the Shining Talon amongst them." I am not 100% certain what monster they were riding, but it wasn't a Demigryph!

They are known for seeking out whatever enemies of Ulric they can find and fighting them head-on. They are among the most-admired fanatics in the Empire. Female members are known but uncommon. They are prone to sudden violence. They are loosely organised. They are single-minded in their search for enemies to kill and attack directly and head-on. Perhaps they are impetuous?
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Wolf-Kin
Cult of ShallyaSpoiler Alert, click show to read:The Cult of Shallya is perhaps one of the most if not the most beloved and mutually respected religious Cult within the Old World. This is due in most part because Shallya, the sacred Goddess of Healing, Mercy, and Childbirth, is possibly the most beloved deity within the entire Pantheon. Many Old Worlders enter it at a temple of Shallya, or at least attended by one of the priestesses, and almost all need the services of the priestesses at some point in their lives. The refusal of the cult to become involved in politics has made it a popular target of charity from wealthy nobles and merchants, and the success of the priestesses in channelling that wealth to the needy is notable. Most temples of Shallya are simply decorated, with the money received going to the relief of pain, and those temples are everywhere, from the smallest village to the largest city.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Shallya
Order of the Tears of Piety = Nothing known
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Shallya
Plague Wardens = While Plague Wardens are violent zealots, they do believe they are acting to save people’s lives. Thus, they do not kill on mere suspicion of infection, and all groups of Plague Wardens include at least one person with diagnostic abilities
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Plague_Wardens
Priestess of Shallya = Priests wear white robes, often with a hood, with a heart embroidered over the left breast. On daily robes, this is embroidered in yellow, but most priests also have ceremonial robes, made of expensive fabric and with the heart embroidered in gold (Best quality)

The Imperial ZooSpoiler Alert, click show to read:"The Emperor maintains a large park or zoological gardens which contains many wonders of the Old World. Cages of brass and iron have been fashioned by the Engineers School to contain the creatures on show. Magical spells placed by the Colleges help to bind some of the more dangerous creatures. The whole complex is enclosed by tall walls and guarded by a company of the Reiksguard.
On holidays the great iron gates of the Emperor's Zoo are rolled back and the public allowed to enter and gape in wonder at the thousands of marvels inside, from Dragons, Hydra and Griffons to the unique and horrific mutations of Chaos Spawn. An important role of the several hundred staff is to hatch out the eggs of creatures taken by expeditions into the wastelands. These eggs are hatched and the chicks reared to produce the most spectacular creatures in the entire stable - the battle mounts of the Empire. Many must be raised to accept a particular rider, and it is accepted as tradition that the heads of the Colleges of Magic and certain other important Wizards should be granted the right to stable a fabulous beast of their own in the Emperor's Zoo."

Colleges of MagicSpoiler Alert, click show to read:The colleges of Magic are situated in Altdorf and are the centre of all magical learning in The Empire, not only that they govern the use of magic within the realm, and will react to ignoble and false uses of it with drastic measures. There are eight schools of magic in this College, and numerous levels of magicians. I will cover all of these. Many magisters leave to travel the country, working as advisors or mentors, some travel to the lesser guilds and libraries associated with their orders. If any of these are added as units I’d suggest they are small in number with few “ammo” to use. I seriously recommend anyone who decides to make units for these different magical Orders reads up on every wiki posted on this section, there is detailed information that could make each unit type very different from one another, giving greater diversity and plus, you don’t want to bother with utterly unloreful units. There is also a Hochland College of Sorcery.

The Orders of MagicSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Amber Order = One of the Imperial Colleges of Magic. They are one with the wild and try to avoid towns and cities as much as possible. They are often solitary individuals. Their Lore of Magic is the Lore of Beasts. They commune with animals and can call beasts of the wild to their side. They can enhance their abilities by summoning the speed, strength and senses of animals. It even allows for shapeshifting. They are excellent trackers and hunters.

Gold Order = One of the Imperial Colleges of Magic. Gold Wizards are masters of metal, ores and alchemy. They are prone to smelting these into unruly liquids to aid their magical powers. They study the Lore of Metal. They research better formulas for black powder and safer alloys for the casting of cannons. They are by far the most capable crafters of magical weapons. They are affected by the magic they use, it turns their skin golden. They are very rich. Known in parts of their wiki-pages as Alchemists.

They study the Lore of Shadow. Their magic is illusion, but can also manipulate perception and emotion, they can quickly move from place to place. Rumoured to be an arcane spy network working to infiltrate underground organisations that plot against the Empire. Some call themselves Grey Guardians, some are referred to as Shadowmancers.

They are reluctant to operate in the winter, but are prosperous in summer. There are few of these in Altdorf as they are prone to living wild. They use the Lore of Life. Their colours are predominantly green and turquoise, and they usually carry a sickle. Apprentice Wizards = Those in this early stage of apprenticeship are not allowed to cast spells without the permission of their mentor. In my mind, if this is turned into a unit it -must- have an officer that looks like a higher level of Wizard, to fit with the lore. These Apprentices are apprenticed to one of the Eight Colleges of Magic, and only one.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...rentice_Wizard
Hedge Wizards = These are unlicensed, unsanctioned practitioners of magic that are usually self-taught. Often these are viewed as Witches and the Colleges of Magic hunt them down along with Witch Hunters. They can go under many names such as Wisdom, Elementalists and Healers, but typically they are best known as Wyrds. At best if they are found they are given a chance to be tested to join one of the eight orders of magic, or they will be executed or pacified. Small units makes sense, I doubt many would travel together in a band.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hedge_Wizard
Journeyman Wizards = Apprentices who show considerable talent and dedication, who are forced to journey the world for a period of several years and cannot return to their Master or College building. With that information in mind, I’d say that they shouldn’t be trainable in Altdorf. These can only practice one of the Eight Colleges of Magic.
http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...rneyman_Wizard

Magical War MachinesSpoiler Alert, click show to read:Celestial Hurricanum = A large, complex, arcane Battle Altar created by the Celestial College to be a potent magical warmachine. It is bolted to a massive wheeled chariot pulled by Imperial Warhorses and watched and operated by Acolytes of the Celestial Patriarch. Has the rare chance that it will work perfectly and instead of summoning a storm of lightning bolts or a blizzard, will summon instead a fiery comet.

Trinity of Fire = ”Meanwhile, high above the battlefield the Dragon-rider Orhbal Vipergut led a force of carrion-vulture winged Daemons, tainted harpies and leather-winged Manticore to darken the skies, to be met in rushing, screaming combat by white-winged griffon-riding knights and a trinity of fire wizards mounted atop a burning wheel of fire and coal-black iron.”

Theoretical Magical War MachinesSpoiler Alert, click show to read:This section I felt needed to be noted after reading through the 8th Edition Army Book for The Empire. In that book are two magical war machines; the Luminark of Hysh and the Celestial Hurricanum. Both of these magical war machines are powered by items of magic called The Orbs of Sorcery. The Luminark uses an Orb of Hysh which is an orb that is infused with the essence of Light magic, while the Hurricanum uses an Orb of Ayzr and is infused with the essence of Heavens magic. Every Order of the Colleges of Magic has access to their own Orbs that are infused with their chosen wind of magic, and all are very powerful and very rare.
What is interesting is that the Light Order will risk the safety of the Empire by using even a single one of the Orbs as they are used to lock away the nasty items and monsters in their dungeon, even they will use them in battle. What this means is that it is theoretically possible that each College of Magic has their own device which is powered by an Orb of Sorcery associated with their Wind, and if the most protective Orbs are shoved onto a Luminark, then other, less vital, Orbs could be as well. It's possible that the Trinty of Fire referenced in Tamurkhan: Throne of Chaos is one of these unknown magical war machines.
For an enterprising modder this could mean that they could create their own magical war machines associated with one of the other six colleges of magic. Although their creation would not be 100% loreful, it would at least fit with the theme of the Colleges of Magic using their orbs of sorcery to wage war. Bear in mind that if you release a mod for a made-up magical war machine you will be open to criticism from those who adhere 100% to the lore.

Air Elementals = Has a magical aura that protects it against weapons. It appears as a whirlwind which twists and turns its way across the battlefield. It’s from Citadel Journal.

Beast Elemental = If an incarnate elemental of beasts exists, then surely a beast elemental must as well.

Death Elementals = The Death Elemental is allied to the elementals of the earth, but represents the negative side of the force; that which reclaims all living things into the bosom of the earth, enabling continual rebirth from the soil.

Incarnate Elemental of Beasts = Summoned through savage and secret rituals known to few humans outside the initiates of the Amber Order of Wizards — and dark lore has it the Bray Shamans of the unholy Chaos Beastmen herds — the Incarnate Elemental of Beasts is known in legend as the Bloody Hidesman, the Horned Man or the Faceless Hunter. It is a towering, half-human figure that embodies the ferocity and merciless hunger of the wild and contains within it the turbulent spirits of numberless predators, both animalistic and cruel.
Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
Incarnate Elemental of Death = Those who call forth an Incarnate Elemental of Death risk bringing about their own untimely demise, for to summon such a fearsome creature is to invite death itself unto themselves. Eerily silent save for the whisperings of the grave that follow in its wake, the Incarnate Elemental of Death is a nightmarish apparition

Incarnate Elemental of Earth = A supremely powerful elemental of Earth.
Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
Incarnate Elemental of Fire = Known in the lore and legend of the Empire as the Charred Ones, the Black Harvestmen, and Jack O’Cinders, stories speak of the wrath of the wizards of the Bright College during the brutally fratricidal wars that wracked the Empire in centuries past, where these conjured creatures were used wantonly to destroy entire towns and villages that had provoked the ire of one or other Imperial faction, laying swathes of the land to ash-strewn waste.

Life Elementals = Life Elementals are allied to the Elementals of the Earth. Unlike those, however, they are tall and graceful, as a young tree or a beautiful woman. They are creatures of the growing earth, the motivating force that gives life to plants and plant spirits. As such, they are revered especially by the Elves (presumably High/Wood Elves).

Sea Elemental = Some say that as the ages pass, Triton and his kind slowly become more like the seas they are lord over, turning wilder and less controllable until there is very little to distinguish them from the towering waves and raging storms of the ocean. The Sea Elementals, living mountains of blue-black water that rear out of the water in the barely recognisable shape of a huge man, are perhaps some stage of this process.

Water Elemental = Has a magical aura that protects it against weapons. They take the form of a wave or column of water, they can move across the earth but their home is the water. They’re malevolent spirits with wild and uncontrollable anger. The older it is, the angrier. It’s from Citadel Journal.
