Okay, you both got two answers right for sure, but the one you missed was 'what people inhabited Iceland before the Scandinavians?" The answer: The Irish, most of them were Christian Monks though.

Its ok, I'll give both of you one Reputation point!

EDIT: I hope Captain Blackadder comes back online soon, I like the quizes!

1 Which family dominated Japan during the Heian period? The Fujiwara family.

2 Many scholars choose May 6, 1527, as an end point for the Renaissance. What event occurred on that date? Spanish and German soldiers sacked Rome. Because of that, the Papacy did not patronise the arts for at least two decades.

3 On July 2, 1881, lawyer and itinerant preacher Charles Guiteau fatally shot recently-elected US President James Garfield. Why? Charles Guiteau thought that God had commanded him to assassinate President James Garfield.

1What action, meant to alleviate the effects of the Great Depression, did the U.S. Congress take in 1930 which actually made matters worse and completed the ruin of the U.S. economy? Why did it backfire?

2 Who was the eleventh president of the united states? What was the most notable thing he did?

3 When Union troops defeated Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg (July 3, 1863), what did they shout at the fleeing rebels? Why?

not impossible but i think fairly difficult.

    1. Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act

    2. James K. Polk. Known for supporting and influencing the "Manifest Destiny" by expanding into the west. This lead to him leading the successful American-Mexican War.

    3. "See the chivalry! See the gray-backs run!" this is because the Southerners were known for their 'honour' and nobility. Also their uniform was gray. (I'm not sure of this one....)

1 To protect U.S. businesses, Congress enacted tough trade barriers (the Hawley-Smoot Tariff of 1930) which in turn resulted in a dramatic decline in sales of U.S. goods overseas -- causing the loss of millions of more jobs and the closing of many more banks. This action finally pushed the U.S. into the depths of the Great Depression (1932). correct

    2 correct

    3 Incorrect

Thats funny i cant seem to add rep to you it says i have to share it around guess i'll givre it to you tomorrow.
