    Everybody in the world calls it football, I don't know why americans keep calling it soccer.

    We call it soccer because we have American Football here and I suppose it's just easier? That's my best guess; but being American, I too, am guilty of calling it soccer.

    This topic is discussed far too much.

    Most countries like International football a lot, and for the most part don't care about American football. They are never going to change.

    Americans have a sport they call football, and it is much more popular in America than International football. They are never going to change.

    People need to get used to it.

    The vote indeed depends on which part of the world you live in. If u lived in USA it would be stupid if u used the word 'football' because people would misunderstand u.
