Thread: Why are a lot of Americans so arrogant and believe they can do no wrong?

Default Why are a lot of Americans so arrogant and believe they can do no wrong?

Take note, I said "a lot", not all of them so don't go saying "oh we are not all like that" because I didn't say all of you, I said "a lot" and this is based on my observation.

From Quora, to Reddit, to YouTube, to Yahoo, to City-Data, this site and so many more, many of them indeed truly believe that they are God's gift to the world and either they can do no wrong or the wrongs they have done are justified and when they defend themselves, they give out the dumbest reasons ever.

It truly is like listening to someone in court who is indeed guilty trying to wiggle their way out; it just sounds pathetic.

I have never met someone like this in real life.....

And by the way, I have also come across so many questions similar to this...... this isn't just me. I just wanted to ask it in my version.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Why are they like this?

    Is it because of pride?

    Nationalistic?

Is it because they are a powerful nation?

Is it in the nature of people from powerful nations to be like this?

If you are a foreigner who's been to their country, are many of them really like this or is it just an online thing?

Are a lot of Americans in real life nice or do they portray the same arrogance online too?

Wondering how many of these threads you'll be making? Do you have a list of "questions" you're going through one by one? When can we expect them to stop?

Nationalism is not unique to Americans. Look at Mayer for an example of a blind German nationalist and I know English people who genuine believe that the British Empire was good for the countries we owned.

I lived in America for a year and found that most Americans believe their nation is the best place to live. Then again most English people (myself included) believe that England i the best place to live.

Wow. You really do get triggered by stuff you read. Here's a piece of advice, not everything people write on the internet is entirely 100% truthful. Believe it or not, there are even people who deliberately try to antagonise others. The trick is to not believe everything you read.

That should be a big clue then. People's behaviour online is not necessarily indicative of their real nature, and many people don't even spend time online.

On the former there are certainly a fair number of them else there not be MANGA rallies, but as for the latter as noted above your reading your online forms its rather easy express anything you want any way you. A good example would be the quara post you put in one of this which was just a string of distortions and mis chargers that you could construct for any country. Why not get a JSTOR pass and read the history of American Exceptionalism and Manifest destiny and the internal criticism of it from Academic sources.

Are a lot of Americans in real life nice or do they portray the same arrogance online too?
I dunno do you think its arrogant to unwaveringly continue to demand everyone agree with you the america is uniquely evil and should be destroyed. How about and honest debate say take the last 200 years make a list of US actions good and bad. Now organize that decade and some relative point system for those actions per decade. Now also add other nations all the majors and small ones that jump out for a surprising good or bad action. Now we can argue over you scoring or perception or ignoring the actions of others or agency of other countries or the US etc.

Americans are different from Germans, when it come to public nudity or cursing in the public. They also don't talk public, even among close friends, about private problems, Germans are more open to close friends.

But Americans are not more arrogant, nationalistic than other nations.

Well, that only shows that you never met genuine blind nationalism. You are talking about patriotism.
I am not a blind nationalist, I have never denied crimes of Germany(unlike US patriots), I only deny their exceptionality compared to the criminal conduct of other actors at the same time.
A blind nationalist from Germany would be 100times worse than me, he would claim that the Holocaust is a hoax and the pictures of its victims manufactured, that the Federal Republic of Germany is not only not sovereign, but not even a state, a GmbH(limited company) registered in the US company register with permission by the occupiers to do business, that the UN migration pact is the implementation of the Hooton/Kalergi plan to outbreed the german ethnicity. Honestly, not as silly as half the claims made by the US government about supposedly being interested in the freedom and well-being of people abroad.

I don't recall the British or Americans conducting an industrial campaighn, spread over a dozen countries to systematicly exterminate an entire race of people.

The only thing you harp on about is Dresden and that is moot as no Luftwaffe officer was prosecuted for bombing London and Coventry. The British did not consider it a warcrime and neither did the Germans and we did not hold the Luftwaffe to a higher standard. Even Goering was not charged with a crime connected to the Blitz, even though he commanded the Luftwaffe.

    Indian Removal Act
Note how Jackson saw it as "mercy" to deport the native americans from their ancestral homeland, because they would have been hunted to extinction by the american settlers just like the native americans in the northern states. The only difference between US treatment of native americans and Nazi Germany's treatment of undesirables is that the latter needed a workforce. The americans got their african slaves, so they had no need for native americans.

And bombing of defenseless cities will always be a war crime, a violation of the laws of war, regardless how many were found guilty.
Admiral Dönitz of the german navy was prosecuted for unrestricted submarine warfare, prompting US admiral Nimitz to say that they had done the same in the Pacific.

The Germans tried to eradicate entire peoples. The Indian Removal Act is a great example of the poor treatment of Native Americans and outright ethnic cleansing, but not systematic genocide.

Actually almost all bombing in WW2 against civilians was legal

Admiral Dönitz of the german navy was prosecuted for unrestricted submarine warfare, prompting US admiral Nimitz to say that they had done the same in the Pacific.
The unrestricted submarine warfare practiced by the US and Germans was different though. The US to my knowledge didn't sink neutral ships while the Germans would.

    This.

Thus, although Dönitz was found guilty of waging unrestricted submarine warfare against unarmed neutral shipping by ordering all ships in designated areas in international waters to be sunk without warning, no additional prison time was added to his sentence for this crime.[5]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_D%C3%B6nitz

Dönitz was a convinced nazi member too:

Despite his postwar claims, Dönitz was seen as supportive of Nazism during the war.[4] Several naval officers described him as "closely tied to Hitler and Nazi ideology."[4] On one occasion, he spoke of Hitler's humanity.[4] Another event, in which he spoke to Hitler Youth in what was defined as an "inappropriate way," earned him the nickname of "Hitler Youth Dönitz."[4] He refused to help Albert Speer stop the scorched earth policy dictated by Hitler[4] and is also noted to have declared, "In comparison to Hitler we are all pipsqueaks. Anyone who believes he can do better than the Führer is stupid."[4]

Several antisemitic statements by Dönitz are known.[4] When Sweden closed its international waters to Germany, he blamed this action on their fear and dependence on "international Jewish capital."[4] In August 1944, he declared, "I would rather eat dirt than see my grandchildren grow up in the filthy, poisonous atmosphere of Jewry."[4]
On German Heroes' Day (12 March) of 1944, Dönitz declared that without Adolf Hitler, Germany would be beset by "the poison of Jewry," and the country destroyed for lack of National Socialism which, as Dönitz declared, met an uncompromising ideology with defiance.[Note 3] At the Nuremberg trials, Dönitz claimed the statement about the "poison of Jewry" was regarding "the endurance, the power to endure, of the people, as it was composed, could be better preserved than if there were Jewish elements in the nation." Initially he claimed, "I could imagine that it would be very difficult for the population in the towns to hold out under the strain of heavy bombing attacks if such an influence were allowed to work."
Author Eric Zillmer argues that, from an ideological standpoint, Dönitz was anti-Marxist and antisemitic.[45] Later, during the Nuremberg trials, Dönitz claimed to know nothing about the extermination of Jews and declared that nobody among "[his] men" thought about violence against Jews.[Note 3]
Dönitz told Leon Goldensohn, an American psychiatrist at Nuremberg, "I never had any idea of the goings-on as far as Jews were concerned. Hitler said each man should take care of his business and mine was U-boats and the Navy."[46] Dönitz also told Goldensohn of his support for Admiral Bernhard Rogge, who had one Jewish grandparent, when the Nazis began to persecute him.

He should also have been sentenced to death, because he gave the order to shot surviving crew members of sunken vessels (witnesses of Korvettenkapitän Karl-Heinz Moehle and Oberleutnant zur See Peter Josef Heisig).

Incriminating files for this gone "surprisingly" lost (Dieter Hartwig: Großadmiral Karl Dönitz. Legende und Wirklichkeit. Verlag Ferdinand Schöningh, Paderborn 2010, pages 42, 43, 315).

But as usual Mayer is closing both eyes in front of the fault of his "german heroes"...

I'm wondering, why Mayer is not talking about the Herrero and Namaqua genocide of his beloved prussian "Schutztruppe" in Namibia...

    Quite hypocritical i would say...

That's not what gets to me, what gets to me is that they always justify their crimes, always trying to find some dumb loophole.....

The responses on my threads and in many others from different people prove that.

No, in fact I live in a country that is an ally of them.

And I've seen far worse anti-American comments.
