How to raise a character's popularity?
The title pretty much says it all. I have a few generals that I wanted to turn into high quality commanders but 2/3 of them have had only 2 in popularity and it hasn't raised with time. Do they become more popular as time goes on or as they win more battles? Is there anything I can do to affect it? It could also be useful for me to know how to make governors more popular

Ancillaries can help, also if you make him a governor or successful commander there's a good chance he'll acquire suitable traits. If they currently have two, then they're already being negatively affected by something, so that level shouldn't be common.

Upon looking at their traits, one of them is "unpopular" and the other one has "Ruined name"
