Welcome once again!
This is the second preview of the January update for Ancient Empires. The past couple of weeks have been busy ones. As you know, the patch was delayed by five days, a consequence of life interfering with ambitious plans. However, the light at the end of the tunnel is near, and tomorrow (if all goes well!) Ancient Empires will receive its biggest patch as of yet.
So what's new since last time? Let's find out!
Summary
- Complete building overhaul for Hellenistic factions; ongoing improvements will be patched in over the next couple of days (does not require restart)
- New building icons for many factions, in particular Hellenic and Eastern main settlements
- All non-barbarian capitals now have 5 tiers
- Completely redone garrisons, recruitment and effects for capitals
- New garrisons for the garrison chain
- All-new Roman chapter objectives and bonus objectives!
- Several reworked rosters (combat stats and roles)
- Several reworked faction traits
- Fixed missing buildings for certain factions
- Fixed bug where AI would not recruit navies
- Fixed previous bugs with AoR unit recruitment
- Added descriptions for hundreds of more units and buildings (still WIP!)
- Major startpos updates
Although shorter than the previous one, we hope you will enjoy this changelog as well. There is still much work to be done, and smaller issues/bugs/missing icons should be expected on January 20th. With that said, we think and hope this will be the most polished, exciting version of Ancient Empires to date.
