Default [sub-mod] Better portraits for starting/special characters.

    Hello all!

So it always irked me that some characters present in this mod either had the same portraits as other characters, or portraits that didn't fit the general artistic style and mod aesthetic.

As such, I took it upon my self to fix this problem!

I'm very new to modding MTW2 and at the end of the day this really was just a copy and paste of assets already in use in IB2:CB.

    To install:
    - All you need to do is unzip the archive and place its contents into "Medieval II Total War\mods\IB2_Britanniae\data\ui" then when asked, override any and all files it asks you to.

Credits go to the IB/IBII team, specifically Joar, who I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) created all the portraits.

    Enjoy!

    Okay, sure! Haha
Can't promise that I'll be of much use to the team, but I'll help out however I can
I'm also thinking of editing the British family tree (which doesn't really make much sense to me) and perhaps making another submod along those lines. However GeoMod doesn't seem to like the mod and it crashes when I try to start it up and editing the descr_strat is just a pain in the ass haha

The family tree is complicated and done so for historical purposes. There is a reason for it, but off course do what you want. Very happy you are doing this!

Yeah I know the history I've written numerous papers on the period for my University degree haha. I just like Geoffrey of Monmouth's fantasy version with a little history chucked in is all hehe
That said, it does kind of confuse me as to why Ambrosius Aurelianus and Artorias aren't the same person given the historical record the mod seems to follow.

My new family tree goes something like this:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    character_record Verica, female, age 69, dead 21, never_a_leader
    character_record Ygrayne, female, age 19, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Arthyr, male, age 8, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Anna, female, age 6, alive, never_a_leader
    character_record Antonia, female, age 32, dead 5, never_a_leader
    character_record Constans, male, age 17, dead 41, never_a_leader
    character_record Myrddin_Emrys, male, age 15, never_a_leader

relative Constantine, Verica, Ambrosius, Uthyr, Constans, end
relative Uthyr, Ygrayne, Arthyr, Anna, end
    relative Ambrosius, Antonia, Myrddin_Emrys end

relative Constantine, Verica, Ambrosius, Uthyr, Constans, end

Glad to have you on the team

Could you add some links in the developer's forum for the modifications you make. Thanks

I gave several alternate histories to possibly play out in the mod

    Fair enough
On another note, I know I could probably post this in the Workshop, but seeing as how I'm here I thought I might as well ask. How does one apply the faction heir trait to characters through the descr_strat? I've tried looking for the trait in the descr_traits and the other corresponding files, but all I can see is triggers for it to occur. The reason I ask, is because I want to make Uthyr heir to Ambrosius without having Myrddin start the game as a child. As it stands, if I have Myrddin as playable on the campaign map, he starts as heir to Ambrsius.
