    Default Mercenary Contracts (Dance Setting)

    Mercenary Bands and Contracts

Here a call to arms is made to those willing to sell their swords for coin and join armies for fame on the battlefield.

How to Hire Sellswords to your services:
    - Simply post a sum of money and the years that you desire to have the services of the Sellswords.
    - Moderators will roll a number, based on the parameters granted and any additional modifiers (like Charisma), and a company will form as a result of these Sellswords gathering.
    - NPC captains, controlled by moderators, will decide whether the contract offered is worthwhile or not.
    - If the captains refuse, a counteroffer may result such as Lord X offers 10,000 dragons for 3 years, but Captain Y rebukes it, countering with an offer of 20,000 dragons for 4 years.
    - If a contract is struck and service is done, when the contract expires, the employer may rehire them for longer services. However, this may result in higher pay demanded by the sellsword company in question.

    Notes involving these Contracts:

    - If a contract does not come together, Lords will have a cooldown period of 48 hours before trying again.
    - If a contract is fulfilled and not rehired, Lords will have a cooldown period of 1 week before being able to hire Sellswords again.
    - Moderators will never give less than reasonable numbers for contracts. However, it will be noted that giving 10,000 gold, one should never expect less than 1,000 sellswords answering the call.
    - If the contract is ended early by the employer, the employer must still pay the full amount of dragons offered.
    - Kings are allowed 3 companies, Lord Paramounts, and High Lords are allowed 2 companies, and all other nobility are allowed 1 company.

    Example of this System:
    1. Lord X posts "I call forth sellswords to join my armies for a total sum of 15,000 dragons and a contract that will last 3 years."
    2. Moderators roll to determine how many sellswords answer this call. A total of 2,000 Sellswords, forming Z Company, answer Lord X's call.
    3. However, Captain of Z Company believes this to be too poor in pay and counters with an offer of 25,000 dragons and a contract of 5 years.
    4. Lord X believes this to be too steep and offers a counter of 20,000 dragons and a contract of 4 years. This is agreeable to the Captain and Z Company joins Lord X's army.
    5. 4 years (4 weeks) later, the contract is fulfilled and services end, the Captain of Z Company departs the army without being rehired.
    6. If Z Company is rehired, there will be a repeat of steps 2 - 4 without the rolling of sellsword numbers. Warning: more money may need to be dispensed to keep them within your services.

Daemon puts the word out across the Narrow Sea that he is looking to hire a company of sellswords for twenty thousand dragons, to serve under Queen Rhaenyra for two years.

Rolled 2,600 sellswords (rounded to nearest hundredth)
Rolled the captain feeling the money is too low (50% chance of outright accepting, 25% of counter offer, 25% of refusing the offer)
Rolled that the captain demands a much higher rate (50/50 chance between 5,000 vs 10,000 dragon increase from original sum offered)

A company of 2,600 sellswords, known as the Silver Hammers, answer the word put out by Lord Daemon. The captain of the company, known as Ser Hill, seems intrigued by the offer of the coin and services. However, he feels that twenty thousand dragons are not enough for his services. For two years, the captain conveys through messages, he would require a sum of thirty thousand dragons. Ser Hill believes that his men require much more money for the services given to a group of people who have dragons.

Daemon responds that he will give him not a penny more than twenty five thousand. If Ser Hill does not agree, he is welcome to negotiate with the Prince in person, and see the famous dragon for himself.

    Roll 50/50 chance of accepting
    Result: 13, reluctant acceptance

Word comes back to Prince Daemon of Ser Hill's acceptance of 25,000 dragons for two years of service. It is stated that it will take half a year for the troops to arrive at Dragonstone.
