    Default Total Bananas - The Road to Simple Pleasures

    As mentioned in the thread before, the journey to a new mod that merges kingdoms with the grand campaign will pick up here.

    Here will follow a short summary what has been done so far...

    What is this mods target:
    To merge kingdoms and grand campaign as simple as possible with as few changes as necessary, to keep it real vanilla like.
    No fancy graphics, no new units, no alterings to the map (only reasonable ones), no cluttering, etc...


    Factions Playable:

    Grand Campaign (22 Factions):

    -Byzantium
    -Denmark
    -Egypt
    -England
    -France
    -HRE
    -Hungary
    -Milan
    -Moors
    -Poland
    -Portugal
    -Russia
    -Scotland
    -Sicily
    -Spain
    -Turks
    -Venice
    -Aztecs

    Papal states (undecided if playable)

    Mongols (non playable horde)
    Timurids (non playable horde)
    Rebels (non playable)

    Americas (5 Factions)

    -Apachean (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)
    -(Aztecs - already in in grand campaign (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)
    -Mayans (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)
    -Tarascans (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)


    Crusades (5 Factions)

    -Jerusalem (including Antioch Units) (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)


    Teutonic (6 Factions)


    -Lithuania
    -Teutonic Order (only units, not as a faction)

    Britannia (5 Factions)

    -Ireland (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)
    -Wales (implemented units and faction raw without buildings)



    These are the ones, that are left to decide. I can choose two.

    -Chichimecs
    -Tlaxcalans
    -Norway


    Campaign Map until now:




    The next steps will be deciding the remaining factions, integrating the factions fully with buildings, charcters, ancillaries, etc (a long and tedious mission)

    Some Units like in the Crusader Campaign need some Cities to be able to get recruited - I hope this is not the case in Total Bananas.

    I have not yet decided the details.
    But I always liked that mechanic, so I think I may keep this in some form. It would make a lot of sense, to only being able to recruit the particular crusader states unit if you hold th region. But I would not limit it to a certain region only but to something like,if you hold this, you can recruit them everywhere.

    For Example in case of the Turks i would not recommended since they are really lacking Heavy Infantry otherwise they must really rely on Assassins and Byzantium should have acess to their Greek Firethrower since they will be not able to have some musketiers.

    ah, ok, I see what you mean.
    i mostly meant this regarding the kingdom of jerusalem. I will give every faction that receives additional troops through the kingdoms campaign a closer look and balance this out.

    I think I settled now on the last two factions.
    Drumroll...

    It will be (dramatic pause)

    Norway and the Chichimecs
    The Tlaxcalans fell of the Wagon.

    According to this, I will make some changes to the Americas Regional Map, by deleting some settlements, because now we have only the Apacheans, Tarascans, Chichimecs, Mayans and Aztecs occuping a whole continent. I will balance the available regions out regarding to the old world.
    Still undecided how to handle the possiilities for the old world to get to the new...

    And my decision for Norway has totaly nothing to do with a certain TWCenter member, who I am afraid of will perform a blood eagle on me, if I merge them with the Danes...

    In regarding Jerusalem which also includes the Units of Principality of Antioch you can let this limitation since Canons of the Holy Sepulcher are 60 Men but also have like 30 Men Assasins 2 Hitpoints which make them really Overpowered.

    Just have faith in me

    When I am done with faction implementing, unit and building porting, and everything is working without a ctd, then would be the time for special faction gimmicks.

    Oh and I think I will implement my debt script from Total Vanilla, to keep the factions going (this would be more or less the only real additon, that is not in the original game).

    I was about to suggest keeping the Chichimechs and Norway, as the Tlaxcans are the same as the Tarascans I'd say. And hey, I wouldn't have done a blood eagle on you! I'd just have raided and pillaged your village!

    So, here we have the latest version of the map.



    You may notice three islands/or island groups in the atlantic. To the north is iceland, west of portugal are the azores and west of africa the canarias. each one of them represents a passage way to the americas that can be shipped without ocean faring vessels.

    scandinavia got on additional province (lund)
    lithuania got one additional (kaunas)

    the levant got 4 additonal provinces (tripoli, krak des chevalier, mont real, ayla)
    north africa got one additonal province (benghazi)

    the eastern steppes got one additonal province (astrakhan)

    I think thats about it.

    aaaand i totaly forgott about the brits
    they got 3 additional provinces (tuam, cardfiff, lancaster)

    From the looks of this, whoever does well in the Americas are going to have a massive advantage -Might be a fun endgame if natives control it as their units are weaker, bit like facing a chaos horde Warhammer. My only worry is if just one European nation or two goes in and takes almost everything becoming massive powerhouses due to the regions per faction there. I very much like the three-way-access point!

    I think horde would be the best term. But knowing the ai, I doubt it, that the europeans get a strong foothold in the americas. But I hope to get pleasently surprised.

    With the Americas focus have you thought in getting gunpowder more protagonism from the start or adding an event to turn 1 to choose gunpowder on since turn 1

    If the balance is the same the natives will get massive armies with good autoresolve strength specially early game so I dont think the europeans will be able to overcome that and conquer the continent, if the natives get ships the situation may be reversed
