With heroic victories and decisive victories i did in fact gain the promising and aspiring commander traits.

It doesn't seem to be bad install in that case, Is there any chance of increasing the trigger for gaining command star upgrading traits from clear victories? Obviously all my victories can't be heroic victories.

Yeah, clear is like 33 percent iirc. But you can change it with minimal effort. It is in the export_descr_traits in your ss6.3/data folder. Look for the lines that say "affect good commander ##" and adjust those. I'd recommend making a backup of the file and saving it somewhere before editing in case you want to revert.

I use notepad++ to open and edit those files, its free.

the find function doesn't always work, but there in the sections under 'militaristics traits'. check both ss and vinalla sections.
