An army of 40 units from several reinforcements

Hello!

I play in 40 units save campaign. I've found if you attack an enemy by several armies which the whole amount of units is more than 20 in total, after all reinforcements have reached to the battlefield, the total quantity of units is only 20.

If you unite some armies into one large, you might manage more than 20 units in one army.

Is there a way to make one army of 40 units in battlefield from several armies which are reinforcements of each other?
