In light of recent discussions, I thought I'd bring up an idea for debate. I was originally planning to propose a formal amendment a few months ago about having ambassadors to different sub-communities here and creating a nexus where they can interact through representatives in the Curia, but perhaps that's thinking a little too big at the moment.
Instead, I came up with an idea for a stripped down, more informal version of it; a Citizen's Noticeboard. I figure many of us are working on various projects across the site (modding, writing, artsy stuff etc), or know other users (citizens and non-citizens alike) who are, and may need a helping hand from time to time. I figure we could maybe have a thread here where citizens can list their own skills and expertise, and what kind of projects or things they would be interested in helping out with. They can also advertise what projects they're working on themselves and what they might like help with too.
Then other members can drop by, check it out and 'recruit' people (for want of a better term). For example, let's say Citizen A can speak Bulgarian and he lists it on the noticeboard as one of his skills, then Citizen B pops along and says "oh, I need some Bulgarian text translated for a mod I'm working on", then he drops Citizen A a PM and they can help eachother out.
Is there much mileage in this kind of idea?
