Thread: compatible smoke mod

    Default compatible smoke mod

    Hi all,

Maybe a stupid question, I'm not used to modding games, but I really like this mod.

I found out about this mod when I saw a you tube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DVurPvxQgU&t=1116s), which seemed to make this game way more fun and way more realistic. So I re-installed napoleon: total war, installed the mod, broke the sound, uninstalled the mod, re-installed the mod and then everything worked (except the "continue campaign" button). And it's a lot of fun!

However, the smoke in my game is a lot less impressive than that of the youtube video, particularly the time the smoke stays on the battlefield for a long time after it is created.
So is this guy using an extra mod? And if yes, can you reccomend a mod that doesn't break down NTW3?
Or is there some setting I should use to get this effect?

Maybe it sounds like a stupid detail, but I think smoke buildup to a large degree explains why people standing right in front of eachother are so ineffective at actually hitting them.
At least that's how Tolstoy describes it: they didn't see anything other than smoke, but just kept shooting in the general direction of the enemy.

    Cheers!

This is also a good visual mod from the NTW workshop: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Sulphur-WHITE

Try adjusting your graphic settings to take advantage of the details in the smoke mods. Lordz forum: https://www.thelordz.org/forum/viewt...177247#p177247
The down side is the higher your graphic settings the higher your chance of crashes during battles due to the increased demand on the graphic card.
