    Icon4 Difficulty!

Wow, this game is much, much harder than vanilla Rome (and I've never completed that). The AI is owning me so far unless I play as the Vikings (but then I get money problems).

For those who have played more of this mod: does the AI build enough Priories to make it possible for the Vikings to live mainly off raiding as in the original VI? I'm a bit worried that the AI will never have the money or desire to build them.

It's a really well-done mod. The only thing I'm slightly unhappy with is the kill times: battles now last a bit too long!

My other small complaint is that the West Saxons start with two ships which you're not able to disband immediately and they cost money per turn to upkeep!

There are a few strange things with this mod, though.

    - Vikings run away from exhausted basic Archers
    - Peasants can apparently hold their own against Spearmen in melee
    - Units move too slowly compared to Vanilla Rome for my taste
    - Spearmen seem to be fairly rubbish against cavalry

Anyone got any tips for playing as the Danes? I've tried the following:

    - Disbanding nearly all my Drakkar
    - Disbanding all non-essential units
    - Building as many money-producing buildings at the start as I can
    - Sacking Saxon towns and then destroying all their buildings

Despite the above, I find I'm still losing money badly. This is despite the Danes holding one of the most important English towns (Canterbury) at the start of the game!

Sacking doesn't make much for you, and even demolishing towns only makes so much. And my Great Army is gradually getting whittled down...

    Help!
