Why do modders bother with short_pike? It's buggy and op as hell.

It should not take me an hour to kill a single hoplite unit! I get that they were super op in real life but still.

It’s not OP, in fact, in my testing I’ve found that hoplites perform worse since the short_pike attribute makes them huddle up like linemen. Because the soldiers will try to squeeze their way into the enemy’s formation, ironically, this results in disorderly combat, which is bad for hoplites.

I do agree with you that it’s buggy though.
