    Icon7 Veggiemod version 1.2

    Are you tired of those huge and ugly redwood trees that are all over the place?
    Also ever wondered what those weird trees are that are the only tree species in the Mediterranean?
    Well, look no further, this mod will fix it for you while retaining the vanilla style of visuals.

    INSTALLATION:

    Download and extract v1.2 and place the modfolder called veggiemod into your RTW folder and run RTW with the command line switches:
    -mod:Veggiemod -show_err (and also: -ne if you're using windows 10)




    This mod is savegame compatible with vanilla, just copy/paste your saves folder into the modfolder and continue your campaign!




    LICENCE:

    This mod is 100% plant based and therefore suitable for vegans.


    Ingedients: vanilla RTW trees, M2TW trees and SFX, 1 juniper made by Tone for Roma Surrectum II, grass models and textures taken from Fourth Age Total War: Dominion of Men (made by Éorl), several trees, textures and skies made by myself (Robbe Aerts).
    May contain traces of nuts.


    Upon installing this mod you agree to go Vegan.



    You are free to include this mod into your own RTW mod, as an add-on or in a RTW mod compilation provided that you mention all the contributors in the credits.

    To use my vegetation in your own RTW mod, first backup your modfolder.

    Then copy-paste all files, except the world and text folders into your own modfolder.

    Resolve any conflicts by keeping both files and the comparing both with a file comparison tool, for example winmerge.


    Finally you should rename the paths of textures in descr_grass.txt from Veggiemod/data/textures/[grass_texture].tga to [yourmodfolder]/data/textures/[grass_texture].tga If you do not you will get white quads instead of grass.

    note: If your mod has one or two pack files named mod_0 or mod_1, try to rename it to patch_0 and patch_1, if that doesn't work, try to unpack them and merge them manually.
    If the pack file only includes skies and you don't want to unpack and repack the pack files you use my pck files only as my skies look pretty realistic.


    PM me if you want the models, except the ones from Fourth Age total war and Roma Surrectum unless you can show me proof that they have given you permission to use their models in your project.
    Also, feel free to ask me to generate a custom vegetation set if your mod uses different climates than vanilla.

    I'm currently working on a version for barbarian invasion, this will also include a multiplayer version with everything but multiplayer disabled and it will run via the 1.5.1 exe, so you will be able to play Barbarian Invasion online through steam again! (since the last steam update online battles are impossible on BI).
    note: some features like shieldwall, schiltrom and swimming units will not work in the online version, but it's better than nothing






    FUTURE PLANS

    I plan to create a mod compilation with this mod, Ahowl11's vanilla balance mod and Xeofox' 3D explosions mod included.
    Also, this mod will be included into my Total War: Alexander III mod.

    Well I don't mind puns as long as you convert to vegansism after installing the mod (as stated in the license).

    Right now I'm working on both a single and multiplayer version for BI (the multiplayer version will use the RTW 1.5.1 exe so you can play BI online with this mod, but all singleplayer features will be disabled).

    Hi Non-binary person, very nice, useful and simple mod

    I have found only one little oversight, version 1.1:

    If one starts the mod with the -mod:Veggiemod command line, the campaign terrain will be all purple. The folder named "ground_types" that is inside the "terrain" folder should be placed inside the "aerial_map" folder. I corrected by looking at the file paths in descr_aerial_map_ground_types.txt. So data\terrain\aerial_map\ground_types\ Then the textures work in campaign
