A clash of heroes it has been, but the one who prevailed was C-Beams. He takes us to the time of King Harold's death during the Norman conquest, after the Battle of Hasting, where he met his death. His mourning wife and griefing countrymen shaken but still praying for and end to the Norman invastion He fought honorably but died which virtually ended Anglo-Saxon rule over England - in some way, he is not the Hero of Legends. He is a failed hero - maybe a hero to his people but still one that dailed his mission.
A big thank you to everyone who submitted an entry or voted in the poll from me on behalf of all the WS Staff. This competition would be nothing without everyone who gets a Tale penned, and the quality of submissions was as excellent as ever. You who contributed to this by voting, entering or encouraging - you are my Hero of Legends!
If you want to take part in a Tale of the Week, you can do so in our current TotW 282: Sculptor's Dream, and ... sculptor you dream? ... by entering a submission? I'm tryin', okay?!
Re: Tale of the Week 281: The Hero of Legends - WINNER'S CIRCLE
Well done, C-Beams! Taking a TotW win with your very first TWCenter post, that's a class performance! I'll be keeping an eye on what you fire our way in the future.

Re: Tale of the Week 281: The Hero of Legends - WINNER'S CIRCLE
Thank you!
I enjoyed taking part in TotW and will do again in the future. Possibly I will miss the next competition, unless I can finish my current short story in time (Starship Troopers fanfic).
