    Default Battle Difficulties

    Can I change battle difficulties before battles and then switch it back after battles? How that effect the mod?

    Well it will only affect your battles. As long as you do not play on Legendary difficulty (where you can't change battle difficulty), you can change it how many times you want.

    I've actually no idea, and was wondering what the recommended difficulty was meant to be. And are we supposed to use the hardcore mod?

    We usually recommend Normal battle difficulty. But, with our stat overhauls recently, having it at higher difficulties won't be quite as bad for balance as it used to be.

    Well, having played mostly on hard difficulty I recommend to all the players out there - you have better army composition, planned out traits for generals, better thought out arky traditions, probably better experienced & equipped soldiers due to training them in specialised recruitment provinces and most importantly, better tactics. On normal its just slaughter. Hard makes it tad more difficult. I have not tried very hard yet though so I cant comment on that difficulty.

    You can change the battle difficulty after you start a campaign, I usually play hard campaign with normal battles. Although, recently I've been getting streamrolled playing on Hard, while if I play on normal I steamroll everything lol

    I know that, but I play H/H because of added challenge in battle. Normal difficulty means getting all victories classified as "heroic" which makes it kinda dull for me

    You can use Hardcore-Softcore as much you like. It only affects Campaigns though.

    I'm used to hard battle difficulty, but I use pause a lot on large battles.
    If you like a no-pause rule then hard can be quite a challenge.

    It also depends on what Unit Size you use probably, especially during siege against towers? (Someone please confirm this because I barely played the game since patch 1.1 so a lot may be changed)
    Most of the time I played the mod with the Medium Unit Size and Hard battle diff.
    Also I remember that siege defense on normal difficulty is way too easy on most cities (Again not sure if it has being changed in ver 1.2).
