Securing a Shire
Gerold and his men march into Shrewsbury and summon all the local Lords of province to come out. Most probably had run with Montgomary so what was left would be easy enough to handle. All lords that remain are given an option to reaffirm their oaths to Edgar and give wards to li Bageard. Once that is done he and his men continue to Shinal and offer them the same deal.

Re: Securing a Shire
At the same time, two contingents of Giffard and Talbot soldiers, four hundred men each, move into the vicinity of Ludlow and Bridgenorth. The local nobility, placed by Montgomery, are given the option to reaffirm their oaths to Edgar and give wards to Lord Giffard. Though they were given orders to be bloodless in their efforts, any who resisted would be arrested and charged with treason and sedition.

Re: Securing a Shire
The loyalist Marchers encounter no effective resistance in Montgomery's Shropshire lands. With their master so utterly defeated alongside Mortain and no castle around, the knights & tenants here know they have no chance of victory should they try anything, and yield one after another to the combined might of Gloucester and Hereford.

Re: Securing a Shire
With the lands and oaths secured Gerold's men return the Gloucestershire. The wards he secured are made squires and ladies in waiting in his court, and he returns to Westminster.

Re: Securing a Shire
With the objective performed, Giffard and Talbot men are ordered back to their lands. A number of wards and ladies in waiting were brought back to Giffard's castle in Goodrich as a result.
