    Perhaps somebody could make a submod about that faction, replacing the Apaches! Although I lack the skill to do so...

    Mehmed had the honor of finding a small hut in the backwater woods.
    Trying to enjoy a short retreat with his friends, he discovered an ancient book in the cellar...
    From there on everything somehow went down south.

    Good luck getting rid of it, it may be a valued treasure in the family from now on.
    Maybe you should get him a Boomstick.

    Has anyone had any issues playing with / against Lithuania? I have played several battles during two different campaigns (One as Lithuania and one as Novgorod) and for some reason during the battle the game freezes up. No CTD, but I can't close out of the game unless I log out of my windows session.

    the only somewhat common factor I've noticed is that the freeze up occurs when the Lithuanian general gets involved in battle

    hey joe,

    that is odd, as i have tested every faction by hand. I will try to repoduce this error. Does this occur also, when you play Lithuania in custom battles and use their general?
    Is an error log created, when the game freezes? If so, can you post the last few lines of it?

    Thanks, and I will look into this, and see what I can do.

    I think I stumbled upon a CTD problem. Whenever Damascus has Turkomans in their army the game crashes while loading the battle.
    I wonder if someone else has it too?

    @joe

    I have run a few tests, but could not reproduce the issue with lithuania.
    If you have a log, if it gets written, this could help.
    Otherwise you maybe find a pattern...

    Sorry I could not help, for now.

    @delta
    yes you are right. thanks for reporting.
    I have not found the culprit as of yet, because the error does not appear in the log file.
    I tested some ideas, but could not get rid of it, but will try further.

    For now you will have to live with the error and avoid real time battles with this unit.
    I will get back to you and all the other yous, when I have found a solution.

    4zumi,

    Thanks for the hotfix, might come in handy!
    Also there is actually... Another bug. Not game breaking one but I recall not being able move my units in the battlefield at all. It's in the hill/mountain south of Jerusalem I think, when you manual battle there.

    @cokjan

    you are welcome.

    That can very well be. It is impossible for me to ensure that some maps may have some big issues.
    But I will see, if I can find it and if it is possible to make some adjustments to it.
    If you have coordinates this would be very helpful.

    @everyone
    If you happen to stumble upon a battle map that can not be used, let me know the coordinatedand i will see, if i can fix it.

    @4zumi

    The 'bugged' battle took place at pos 253,48 (south of Jerusalem)

    Anyway, I wish to ask you something because it has been bothering me. Does the Aztecs and Apacheans have proper farms? Because I notice that they don't give any income or population growth whatsoever.

    ah ok, I will have a look at it.

    And yes, you found a bug. The aztec farms have no ferming level boni.
    But the Apacheans have a farmers tent with one upgrade that gives a farming level bonus.

    The battlemap and the aztec farmers bug will be adressed in the next hotfix (battlemap if possible)

    No problem! And thanks for still looking over your mod.

    Anyway I wanted to discuss about these with you for quite some time, but what do you think about the unit progression and upkeep?
    When I was playing as the Turks, I noticed that Dismounted Hasham are very cost effective. With only 125 upkeep, Good stamina and morale, Turks have one of the best Infantry available right off the bat (although they are supposedly a cav faction until the ottomans?)

    Compare that to other faction's units. The Cumans in particular, have weird upkeep. Their swordsmen that are more than Dis. Cuman Nobles have an astonishing 250 upkeep which is similar to Hashashim. The Khan's Guard are cheaper than both of them! And they have Spearmen with Good stamina and morale, with only 100 florins...
    Again if you compare it back to the Turks, they have a similar spear unit but has 175 florins upkeep.

    Anyway 4zumi, have you thought of uploading Total Vanilla to Moddb?

    You are welcome. That mod is my baby, so I will make damn sure to watch over it

    And you got me. It may be, that I was a bit sloppy regarding all the unit upkeep and cost thing. Thats why Cuman Nobles have the same upkeep as Hashashim, and so on. I will have a look at it and will include the remedy in an upcoming hotfix.
    So @all, if any of you would like to say something about upkeep/cost things, I am all ear and will do my best to balance it.

    And for the moddb, I know it exists, but I have not really put a thought in it. Is there something special I should be aware of or is it pure exposure and download security? Do I have to bother with another community?

    And I just wanted to say, it is always nice to see your posts on reddit

    Looks really interesting, definitely going to give this a try in the near future.

    I noticed that it apparently is possible to cross the Atlantic on turn 1. How long does it take for a ship to traverse the ocean and does the AI take advantage of this?

    @Ensyvtre

    Depends, IIRC going from Norway to the Americas took about 3-4 turns. Also you can't sail through the middle of the Atlantic with early cogs, holk, etc, you need to take a Northern/Southern route near Iceland/Arguin. And yes the AI (especially the Norwegians) always take the advantage to go to North America (although settling successfully there is random)

    @4zumi

    It's good to know that you still look after your mod!

    Regarding upkeep, if you need any help. I'd gladly provide you with information or manual editing (Changing unit stats can be easily done through notepad, right?)

    Regarding Moddb, pure exposure I think, just wanted more people to know about this mod.

    And thanks, somehow I love discussion with gaming relevant people.

    @ensyvtre

    what cokjan said.

    But I would have to add, that there is also a middle route, that can be taken from spain/portugal. You will often see Portugal settle in the Carribean, but most of the time the Aztecs will cick them out eventually. Also the Moors can be seen taking Brazil, by using the southern route once they have taken Arguin.
    In the end it all comes down to proximity. In the original game you would have never seen a faction settle the Americas, because of too far away, by the time they were revealed most of the AI factions were already dead, and no one built a fleet of only ocean faring ships. Now America is much closer, can be reached in 2-3 turns depending on location. So once you settle there you can be shure that european AI factions will come after you. Let the Norwegians tell you some stories of Irishmen and Scots that came knocking on the door, once they settled in Roanoke.

    @cokjan

    Thanks for that. I will take the info, as I want to make the editing myself (even when you are completely right about, that this is a simple text edit.

    And I will think about moddb, maybe I will take it there too.

    And you are welcome, I am always open for it. (Wohoo, I am relevant )

    That's nice to hear.
    I was a bit concerned that crossing the ocean would be a single-turn endeavour that the AI ignored until the player decided it was time to invade the Americas, but it seems that isn't the case.

    Aye big fan of the mod but was wondering if im the only one who has problems with polish nobles/Armenian javelin men not holding weapons? drives me bonkers when I use them and i see spear flying from their fist or watching kill in plate with their bare hands.

    @heavenoverhell

    No you are not (edit: the only one (experiencing this issue) . - At first it sounded like I said you are not a fan). I just tested it. I had not noticed it yet.
    If you zoom all the way in, the unit get their weapons back. But they will become invisble if zoomed further out.

    As far as I could find it, it could have to do with the model itself
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...Weapon-Problem

    As I am no modeler and Hellvard was so nice to make this version of the dismounted polish nobles for this mod, he would have to take a look at that and fix it, if it is the model.
    I will ask him about it.

    So for the time beeing just zoom really, really close
