In response to the crowning of Richard in Normandy, the King makes it known that this year he is raising the heregeld: the 'war tax'. Sheriffs and tax collectors ride to every shire to gather funds for the king, and every tenant or free man, from Cornwall to Northumbria, must pay his dues to the King.
Province tax levied: £2100 from 420 provinces.
(Nobles required to pay 5% of their annual income. Simply post below if you are paying or skimping out on the tax. Marcher earls are exempt.)
