Jesus Christ the Saudi defense. You can't say Russia played anywhere near good enough to justify the 5-0, but the Saudis gave up after the 3rd goal, while Russia kept playing.

Btw i got a feeling tomorrow Portugal is going to win with Spain.

I Might be wrong of course. Its just a feeling i have.

Also noting This squad has better players, and overall quality then it had in 2016. Imo.

Given the current problems in the Spain camp it's going to be a miracle if Spain takes more than 3 points in total.

The class goal of the game is the 4th goal. Saudis looked woefully disorganized on defense and lack any creativeness or proper decisions making. They just seemed lost out there. The passing was atrocious on both sides of the ball. Russia scored goals on Saudis poor play. Gme two will be key Russia needs to play better and Egypt win, lose, or draw against Uruguay needs to play well. I am interested to see how Egypt plays, traditionally the strongest and best team in Africa year after year.

It wasn't a pun. If they play the same way against Egypt and Uruguay these 3 points are all they'll make.

I'll wait to see how Uruguay and Egypt do before judging.

Egypt might depend a bit too much on Salah to achieve anything. Pikestance is right, they are the best African team, but it's also their first participation to a World Cup in a while. I also think Saudis might have underperformed due to Ramadan fasting and Egypt might suffer the same, at least today.

Good idea. I'll probably join during Spain-Portugal.

Heartbreaking ending for Egypt, the game was boring though.

    Great, see you there.

Yeah, really makes the Russia-Egypt match more interesting. I get the impression Russia is going let it all out and Egypt will be keen to score early.

Maybe, but it can also have the opposite effect. Besides i will fear Hierro much more then Lopetegui, always.

Poor Real Madrid, they dont know what await them. Extensive rotation of players of the first 11, way more then it should. And a great increase of lack of attacking depth.
At least it was so in Porto. ( maybe he is more suited to coach national teams i think).

Spain's 1st goal was illegal.Diego Costa gets away with an elbow to the face of Pepe and then scores. I don't blame Gianluca Rocchi, he was 30 meters away...I blame the VAR assistant. But that's what happens when referees and video arbiters are all of the same nationality, referees are penalized for wrong decisions.
