Thread: AI mod

    Default AI mod

I don't like Ultimate AI as I don't like the battle modifications. I only want a mod that does not make the AI attack me for no reason, improves diplomacy and not an all-out attack on me. I don't like the way that the weaker factions still attack me when I am the stronger factions.

Have you looked through the tools and tutorials sticky's for altering the ai files?

descr_campaign_ai_db.xml handles the overall campaign behavior of the ai, while config_ai_battle.xml handles the battlefield behavior. There are some basic explanations of each parameter in campaign_ai. I haven't messed around with it that much, so I'll leave actual effects to more experienced members.

there are too many tutorials to view and it is very tedious and a headache to keep viewing countless solutions for the right one that can give me the game i want to play. Can some experienced player help narrow my search to something that helps me alter the AI to the specifications i ask?

Perhaps you should try Stainless Steel and choose the one of the AI available.

This is a quote and a link to a discussion that may be of interest to your question:
I strongly recommend Stainless Steel, for many more reasons than just the diplomacy. However, the diplomacy in SS is a notable improvement over vanilla, and I've noticed the AI usually has a strong interest in self-preservation. There are also three settings for the AI possible, written by Gracul, Lusted, and Savage, each with a different level of aggression and playstyle.
From what I've played, I've found it to be a very polished mod, and find it to be a significant improvement over vanilla. The AI is far less predictable on the campaign map, and is smarter on the battle map.

I am using the 6.4 version, but there may be reasons to use an earlier version as well. Follow the install instructions with care.

You can find Stainless Steel as one of our hosted mods: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...tainless-Steel
