    It said ‘consider the law including constitutional change’

    They enacted the 2013 act, which did not require constitutional change, but changed the law according to the enquiries findings.

    To put it one way, the 8th amendment protects the unborn, the 2013 act robustly protects mothers. Is that not good enough?

    Clearly not. Savita is only one of hundreds of women killed and persecuted by this amendment. It was a force for evil, and the Irish people have recognised this. Hopefully soon there will be no more cases like Savita's.
