Li Bageard’s scouts find that the size of the Saxon army is larger than that which survived Goodrich: around three thousand or so men. They remained camped at the spot of their victory, though there are signs that they will soon break camp.

The Earls move towards York. ETA 340 minutes so 5 hours 40 mins.

Li Bageard’s outriders, scouting a few leagues ahead of the vanguard, come across the rearguard of the Saxon forces. They are apparently making their way northeast, through Mercia. They are a few days ride away, at most, and if the Norman cavalry followed at pace they would be able to harass the Saxons on their way north and perhaps draw their attention towards them.

The Norman Army is ordered to follow the route the Saxons were taking. Outriders are once again sent ahead to screen the advance and try and get a better sense of the armies destination. Scouts go to
    Staffordshire
    Chessshire
    Nottinghamshire
    Lincolnshire
And Yorkshire in an attempt to find the Saxon force.

Ooc unsure of time since I'm following the general trail of the Saxon force. The army is going to mpve slowly and screen for potential ambushes and try and track the enemy.

The Normans are effective in their pursuit. They pick up the trail of the Saxons fairly quickly; they are moving north-eastward through Mercia and into Northumbria, likely heading for Mortain's location.

Scouts in Staffordshire find nothing. Cheshire is safely declared to be empty, as is Nottinghamshire. Scouts from Lincolnshire return empty handed, and those entering Yorkshire do likewise.
