Economic Branch: Urban Development Branch
Current Office: Pro-Consul of Gallia Narbonises
Age: 44(in 80bce)
Traits: Wealth +2, Battle +2

Appius Claudius Pulcher was an expert in Roman architecture and antiquities. He was head of the senior line of the most powerful family of the patrician Claudii. The Claudii were one of the five leading families (gentes maiores or "Greater Clans") He is considered a reasonable man who speaks only when he can contribute and not for the sake of discussion. After the annulment of Narbonus and Carbo's consulship Appius rose to become the consul of 84 BCE, he was elected Pro Consul of Gaul in 83 BCE and again in 80bce. He raised the Legio VI and VII out of his own coffers made up from Gallic-Romans.

Appius Claudius Pulcher had been the only one of his family whom had not yet led a military expedition. This changed when he provoked a meeting with the Aquitani tribe and subsequently took their chief prisoner. The rest of the year Appius commanded a large force of around 20.000 men into the Aquitaine regions. A final battle was fought beneath the walls of Tolosa where Appius was nearly killed was it not for his son Tiberius. With the battle victorious Appius declared the Aquitani pacified and incorporated into the Republic, he sold every man, woman and child he could get his hands on into slavery. Nearing the end of the year Appius would need to renew his term as Pro-Consul so he traveled to Rome, nearing the eternal city Pulcher fell gravely ill. Yet records show that some bedrest and wine made him recover without to much hinder in his further life. When recovered a visit to Manius Messalla was planned so that Appius could meet his granddaughter, sadly his daughter, Messalla's wife had died in childbirth.

Initially Pulcher feared repercussions for his war. To his surprise and without trouble he was re-elected pro consul and made his way back to the pro consular palace.

Appius Claudius Pulcher The Younger
Ranks: Homo novus
Current Office: N/a
Age: 24(in 80bce)
Traits: +1 wealth, Battles +5(won a +1 at Regillius Lake, +3 for Sertorian Campaign)

Appius the Younger has finished his formal education some time ago, he has gotten the reputation of a seducer and shows little to no interest in a political career. His father, not content with his sons behaviour has made sure his son will feature in the ensueing conflict so he can made a name for himself. Serving under the 7th legion's Legatus Messalla he fought at the battles of Lucera and Lake Regillius. The latter was where he was among the first cohort and led a counterpush which would eventually drive the enemy units of the hill.

In 81bce Appius led the left flank of consul Iulus his army in the siege of Cordoba. Distinctively leading it and winning a silver phalerae in the process. Upon the turning of the year into 80bce he became the legate of Legio VI. The legion is privately owned by his father.

He followed his younger brother and the overall commander Messalla eastwards of Turbula. Where they came into constant with the enemy in the pass. Taking heavily losses but emerging victorious nonetheless. A famous passage of his brother Tiberius written accounts survives until modern days.

Upon resuming the march it became known that the traitors to Rome hid at the stronghold of Osca. The Pulcher brothers personally helped in making camp at it's doorstep. Appius was on the right flank, it was here where he screamed the famous words "and so we march!". He and his troops suffered a large number of casualties, Appius himself was struck down by a blow to the head. His men thinking he had fallen started to waiver. In that moment Appius rose and went into a berserker blood lust. Which had rallied his legion back into the fight. After many hours of hard fighting they had risen to the top of the hill and destroyed the enemy forces.

Upon the completion of the battle Appius, exhausted as he was collapsed onto the floor and had troubles coping with the immense amounts of death on the field. He felt responsible.. He was escorted by some of his men down to camp after he was made aware his brother had received a bad injury. He remained with his brother for a week until he woke. Only leaving his brothers side to personally helped with the construction of funeral pires of his men.

After the conclusion of the campaign Appius said goodbye to Tiberius who would lead his own legion and Appius his legion towards Gaul, to their father. Appius would travel with Messalla towards Rome and secure a marriage with Messalla and Appius his sister, Servillia. In which he would succeed before being elected Aedile and gained entry to the senate in 79bce.

79bce went on without much of note, Appius had spoken on the senate floor sometimes but nothing much. He resigned the post in advance to the elections and went to see his brother in Aquitaine, his father had already departed. Whilst Appius again took command of the sixth he was in his command tent when he suffered from flashbacks and rudely awoke. The battles he had fought had left scars on him.. Anxiety attacks would plague him during his night's rest onward.

Current Office: N/a
Age: 20(in 80bce)
Traits: +1 wealth +5 Battles(+1, won after Regillius lake, +3 after Sertorian Campaign)

Tiberius is finishing his formal schooling and as such will begin his political career soon. Tiberius shows promise with numbers and is thus expected to one day become Questor of the Republic. In a twist of fater Tiberius joined his brother in serving under Legatus Messala of the 7th legion. Remaining in the reserves during the battle of Lucera. During the battle of Lake Regillius he was tasked with protecting the Legatus who was still suffering from injuries sustained at Lucera. He held his own during the battle not shying away from taking part in the combat. He was praised by his Legatus for his efforts during the battle. Perhaps a military career was not that far fetched?

In 81bce he took part in the siege of cordoba, as the second in command of the left flank of Consul Iulus his army. His brother Appius led the left flank. During the fighting Tiberius saved Appius from certain death, this resulted in Tiberius being rewarded the Civic Crown. Tiberius had secured honors he could reap the rest of his life. He was also gifted a paludamentum and cincticulus, both bright red, fibula, a good Attic helmet and a new gladius and pugio from Pro-Consul Iulus.

Upon the turning of the year and after the siege of Cordoba he was appointed Legate of Legio VII, a legion owned by his father. He followed his brother and overal commander Messalla eastwards of Turbula. Where they came into constant with the enemy in the pass. Taking heavily losses but emerging victorious nonetheless. A famous passage of Tiberius his own written accounts survives until modern days.

Upon resuming the march it became known that the traitors to Rome hid at the stronghold of Osca. The Pulcher brothers personally helped in making camp at it's doorstep. Tiberius was on the left flank during the coming battle for Osca, charging uphill his legion was decimated. During a heroic last stand where Tiberius had secured his legions Eagle he was struck by the enemy. Suffering a grievous wound to the leg. When reinforcements arrived on the flank Tiberius was brought back to camp with the remainder of his men and the Eagle resting upon his lap. It took a week before he regained consciousness and more before he could properly walked again but it seemed he would not have too much troubles because of the injury. As this was the finally battle in the campaign Tiberius led the Sixth Legion, which was merged with the 4th legion to replenish strength, and his brothers seventh legion back to Gaul. Where he would join his father.

During the Aquitani campaign Tiberius served vigilant. Fighting in all the battles personally and leading his 7th to glory once more. Whilst marching Tiberius had seduced a local Gallic woman whom he cared for deeply. He however was struck with a blatter infection after he lay with her. During the Siege of Tolosa he saved his father from being killed, keeping in with a tradition of his some would note. Staying in Aquitain after the conquest had been completed Tiberius learned to appericiate Gallic culture even more, going as far to learn the language in which he became fluent.
