"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

As a player only, I think that given the game is still in beta it is stable enough and playable. Crashes are still reported, although I have not had one since the last update. There are still bugs. The game still needs some balancing, but that is to be expected given its complexity.
Keep in mind that we who are playing the game now are play testers. Give it a go and see what YOUR reactions are. I am sure your thoughts will be welcome to the team who are doing the work.
You might want to wait a bit for the newest update to start a game.

Stupid question. How do I recruit ships as Pontus?
Excuse me for asking, but the Changelog notes state ..."Lead resource added to 2 regios in Iberia"... etc.etc.
Where can I find these regions then?
In my savegame I own all of Iberia but I still don't have lead and even with a new campaign I don't see the resource on the tactical map.
Also, my Rome campaign is 80 turns in and I don't want to start over... again...
Will I get a lot of trouble continuing on that savegame, or am I allright?
Cheers!
Latest version still needs some fixing before it's rereleased, so no lead in Iberia yet.
You can continue the save game with 1.02c with no problem, but you won't get the new resources and features until you restart once 1.02 is back up. So it's basically a race to win the game before that happens
Thanks Swarbs!
I missed that post, bit hard to find though so I don't blame myself
I always look at the title of this thread to see if there's a new version out of the mod, that's why I was confused.
Working hard behind the scenes to bring new improvements. 1.02d and e will probably be released together or in close succession. The e patch focuses on gameplay improvements. Some key points below.
- Siege attrition is lowered significantly but engines are also faster to build (because let's be serious, who wants to fight an army of corpses?)
- The way culture works is being revamped towards greater historical realism. Local traditions from native populations (i.e. base culture zeal) is going to be high in the next version. Cultural impact from buildings is lowered, and the "other foreign cultures" category is done away with. Conversion is slower. Taken together, these changes make it difficult and very slow to assimilate conquered areas as it historically was. For the empire that expands quickly, native discontent will become a growing obstacle to further expansion. Native cultures will remain a factor throughout the game, never eliminating native discontent (but the player can reduce it in several ways; upgrading their government chain to increase their influence, build temples, station armies etc.). Certain buildings will now reduce the player's faction influence over a region - in particular commercial ports and some markets.
- Further updates on trait triggers. New characters and those comimg of age will now directly have traits (instead of appearing as a long list after you recruit them in the event feed - only traits aqcuired later appear in the feed). They will also be more diverse. An important fix to the unintentional situation where a faction member whose father just passed got both "faction leader" and "family member" trait has now been fixed.
- A large amount of bug fixes based on feedback on TWC and steam, and more to come.
Campaign modder for Ancient Empires
any news for agent?
I just loaded the campaign for the first time in a while and the new campaign map is so gorgeous. Feels so much better.
Was the Carthago Nova map removed though?
how long until update e? also i think that carthage should be destroyed
We will have an update tomorrow. July 16th - wont be everything we originally intended, but should be satisfying. Thank you!
EDIT: Will have to delay further. Sorry all, were having trouble with some of our latest changes.
Has anyone else never seen the AI recruit naval units?
I wonder if the 'type' of force has something to do with it.
On the right is vanilla attila (or with minor mods). On the left with is the Ancient Empires mod. All land armies are listed as 'navy' and naval forces aren't shown (I know that in that save that faction had a 'navy' with only the commander's unit.)

Maaaaaan I cant install your mod. It is not downloading to my Attila Data folder. Instead it goes to the workshop folder and when I put the pack files to Attila/data it starts downloading 18gb again to the workshop folder and prevents game from starting. I read that I am not the only one having this problem. It is not the first time Itried to install your mod. 1.02 was the same. Drives me mad and I start loosing hope for now.Is there any non steam download for vers 1.03?
Sry you are right. Thought they have to be in the data folder because of installation guide. Now I can start the mod but it seems that it does not run like it should. Dont know but when I am in the Campaign Menue I have a white screen where the Faction Leaders should be. When I click on custom battles the game freezes and I get the message: the program Attila tw doesnt respond. I have to close via task manager. Anyways Campaign is playable so far. Tried one turn and did a battle, seems to work. Sry for my bad english and thanks for your reply. Is this custom battle issue normal or do you have any Idea to solve this issue?
