The unit rosters in Thrones of Britannia (ToB) are culturally distinct for each faction. However, I felt that they lacked certain unique units that would otherwise be fitting and make the gameplay more interesting. This mod introduces new unit types and redesigns units to vanilla ToB, making careful additions and changes to expand and enhance unit rosters.
Slinger, Mace Infantry, Chariot, Shock Cavalry, Special Artillery and Crossbow Cavalry unit types have been fully implemented with new art, animations and mechanics. Unit additions aim to be historically fitting, balanced, polished and high quality.
New units are seamlessly integrated into faction rosters so that they feel like consistent and natural additions to vanilla ToB. This leads to more variety and interesting gameplay, while staying true to vanilla content/design.
Each unit is available in custom battles and is recruitable only on a new campaign start. Mod will be constantly updated for future official patches.

NOTE: Everything added in this mod has all art, models and animations fully implemented. There should also be no issues/bugs/known problems. Most mods should be compatible, but not for mods that add/affect units or large overhauls.

I really like how the levy spearmen of all factions start out shieldless. Excellent touch.
However, the unshielded Viking faction militia axemen still get no shields--ever; making them grossly inferior to the shielded levy axe of other factions. Which was presumably a Dev balance call to prevent the damned Norse roster from getting too OP. But methinks the buggers deserve shields in an upgraded form; at least for aesthetic purposes.

Cheers, yes this mod actually makes those axemen shieldless. I intended for them to be a unique light-infantry unit type, but I see how it can be seen as incosistent with axe levies from other factions (especially since the Norse are supposed to have the best axemen). Hmmn, will definately have a think about this (will either make some redesigns/additions or just re-add shields).
I've got a few new things in line and suggestions/feedback is helpful. Will update soon after the new official patch on Tuesday whether it's a beta patch or full release.
