    Ahmad Khan:
O Prophet! Command your wives and your daughters and the women of the Muslims to cover their faces with a part of their cloaks; this is closer to their being recognised and not being harassed; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. (It is incumbent upon women to cover themselves properly.)
    Arberry:
O Prophet, say to thy wives and daughters and the believing women, that they draw their veils close to them; so it is likelier they will be known, and not hurt. God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.
    Pickthall:
O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.
    Sahih International:
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
    Yusuf Ali:
O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Yet the vast majority of Muslim women have faces as bare as Kim Kardassian's arse. I go by what is observable, not what funamentalists tell me.

The atheist Nazi football hooligan cult that is the EDL is indeed opposed to Christian values, thats why the Churches campaigned against it. British values do not include, say murdering 70 kids because they happen to be socialists, or running over a pensioner because Tommy Robinson says something must be done about Islam.

Are these the values you want us to adopt?

Irrelevant to what I was addressing (veil not being required by Islam).

And you can observe in the verses he has quoted that Islam itself says women should cover their faces. The hijab would simply seem a more moderate homage to this commandment.

The far right, the Ayatollah and Wahabists, the only people who insist on Islamic fundamentalism. If an arse could have 3 cheeks.

It's relevant as far as real life is concerned, see above point.

Pretty sure every developed country had issues with "youths" regardless of how big their immigrant population is.

The topic of the thread is the Riots in Toulouse. While some discussion about the religious practices \ assumed religious practices of the Immigrants is within the bounds of the thread, several posts about the stance of Islam, moderate to extreme on Burcas is considered off topic. Please use the EMM if you want to discuss a religion's practices and expectations from its followers.
