The problem with Roman-Germanic Wars, it would be too similar to CiG. Grinding through near endless germanic hordes as Roman. The same thing would be with a conquest of Britannia. Grinding through endless hordes of Britons.

An Alexander-DLC is the only thing what could bring something new (Mauryan-Indian Faction). Or you make a Trajan Wars-DLC, but Dacians, Nabateans and Parthians are already ingame.

I don't like mini-campaigns about a period already covered in the grand campaign (ex. Ceaser in Gaul, Hannibal at the Gates), so I hope that the next campaign will not be about Boudica, germanic wars, etc.
A campaign about Alexander would be nice.

90% chance that the campaign pack will be about Alexander and/or the Diadochi, 10% that it will be about the Italian wars of the late 4th and early 3rd century.

Whatever the new campaign turns out to be, I'm just happy we're getting more content for Rome 2. I mean I wouldn't have dreamed a year ago that we'd now have 4 new factions and a new full size campaign to play, with another on the way.

Good question. ED was in production like 6 months with some detailed info being available 1-2 months ahead. DK was complete suprise until almost release date. So far CA seems to limit parallel DLC/Game released. For April we have ToB, for May Lord pack for WH2 + Norsca + FLC + 30th.RoR,.. 3K will be up in fall, September? Some 3K´s DLCs... We can expect some ToB DLCs as well, another Lord pack and maybe even faction DLC for Warhammer..

ED release date was 30th November, DK 8th March...so at least another 3 month? Team is now more experienced...maybe sooner maybe longer? We don´t know if CA waited for ED/DK results to give green light for this new campaign or if it is already in production. But my bet is before 3K....because having in parallel 3K + DLCs vs another historical DLC for Rome 2 ..that could be problem in marketing..

If their trying to do something different maybe it'll be based on emerging factions rather than settled ones.

A Slave revolt faction with characters like Eunus, Tryphon and Spartacus.
The Social War Italian State with units from a variety of tribes including the Samnites, Marsi, Lucanians, Pompeians, Iapygians and others.
The Maccabee revolt against the Seleucid Empire
Carthaginian Mercenary Revolt
The Invasion of the Yuezhi, which could really upset the Balance of power in the Eastern provinces.
The Sun Citizens, a revolt of the poorer classes and slaves led by Aristonicus of Pergamon after Rome annexed that kingdom
Pirates of the Mediterranean, entire fleets of Corsairs who were a major menace on shipping until put down by Pompey the Great
The Sertorian Republic, set up by Quintus Sertorius in Spain as a government in exile, it's opposition to Sulla last for many years and included many Lusitanian and Iberians.
Mamertines, rebellious mercenaries of Syracuse who set up a piratical kingdom in Messina, raiding Sicily and Southern Italy

Actually I hope they do something revolving around naval battles, and fix/finish naval battles with the new FLC (i heard from various people who dug threw the base files is that a lot of the naval stuff is done, just not implemented yet), so naval battles can become somewhat playable!

Though knowing CA, they might not.

Actually i have a lot of fun with naval battles. They are a challenge, because they need to be carefully planned with a deep, wide battle formation.

I think 4 months minimum from release of Desert Kingdoms (so July earliest,) but I could easily see it being 6 months given it's "a fresh take on campaign packs for ROME II as well as a very exciting feature for the Free-LC." It's a guess, but seems to me that an ambitious Campaign Pack will probably take longer than a Culture Pack.

All we can say for sure is it will be what it will be.

i would love to see a campaign centered around the Yuezhi invasion of Baktria as it would serve as an interesting prequel to the upcoming 3KTW by bridging the worlds of Rome 2 and China.

However, we are almost certain to end up with something childish and "Hollywood" such as an Alexander or Boudica themed campaign.

Agreed with this. Expansion into India could also be the fresh take they are talking about. How about it means they will add India to the grand campaign as well if you buy the campaign pack? That also fits with the warhammer model doesn't it?

From when Rome was a monarchy to when it was a republic and through to an Empire right through to the fall of Constantinople and ultimately the fall of Trebizond they aren't short of material to use. I'm quite partial to a Medieval campaign starting around 1080 CE sometime after Manzikert though Attila Total War stands in the way with that one. So alternatively I want to be pleasently suprised in what ever they choose as it finances the bug fixing of land glitches and amphibious boats.
