I'm going to break my toolset topic into sub posts based on the different plugins.
Currently the Region Editor Plugin is in Beta. It lets you load a map_regions.tga file and descr_regions.txt file and edit the properties of each region. You can also see new regions that you have added to the .tga but have no yet added a descr_regions.txt entry for. You can click on the map image to select the region you want to edit. Finally, it lets you save your changes to the descr_region.txt file.
To use this plugin you need my Total War Toolset Framework program. You can get it by following the link in my sig. (Get the beta version)
[Q]uestion: What other features would you like to see in the Region Editor Plugin?
[Q]uestion: Would having a Region Editor with the ability to actually edit the map_regions.tga file be useful, or would you rather use Photoshop/Gimp/Some Dedicated Image editor?
If you would like the Region Editor to be able to edit the .tga files and not just the text files, what features would it need? So far I can think of :
- Ability to choose a color
--- Sliders for RGB
--- Eye Drop Tool to pick an existing color from the map
--- Maybe have it randomly generate a new color that is not already in use?
- Ability to set a pixel to chosen color (Drawing)
--- One pixel
--- Multiple Pixels - Larger brush sizes / square shapes / circle shapes
