Default Questions about downloading from Steam: Very basic questions

Maybe I should asked this in Steam, but since you guys are avid gamers anyways I thought I might try here first. I would like to keep certain games in SSD and other games in HDD.

What is the appropriate way to store different games into these different disks while ensuring that they would still work when called upon? Of course, I would just specify the disk of installation for my specific games. However, I heard that you need to have 'steamapps/whatever' in both disks beforehand. Is that true?

If it helps: I only have my OS on SSD.

You can have multiple steam libraries. You can go in to Steam settings and to downloads I think and then specify your SSD as the Steam default drive. I use my secondary SSD as my game drive. The games run perfectly, just like if they were on main drive. Every time you download a game, you can specify if you want it to install to a certain drive, or go with the default you have set.

If you already have the game on your HDD and want to move it to your SSD, then Steam - Properties - Local Files - Move Install Folder might help. Otherwise, what droppedthebaby said.
