    Ber,

There's a strange bug I've been having related to the events in version 0.93. If a turn begins and I get an event, such as a banquet opening on the screen and then save the game, it creates an issue: If the game is later reloaded, then the end turn, finances and faction information buttons are locked and cannot be highlighted or clicked.

I don't have a system log at the moment, but if you think it warrants one, I'll try to replicate the issue (it's happened 3-4 times so far, only when then game is saved before I've accepted or rejected the event) and post one.

It won't happen with the new campaign script which will disable save if there's an event which need an answer.

Worked for me too, though you don't get the events back, but you can click on your cities and whatnot again.

london port and exeter port need to be moved slightly out of the landmass

the sicily landbridge has some wierd arrow placeing
Venice is spelled Venexia shouldnt that be Venecia?

William of Normandy and Anjou, exist twice, one as William the King and as "Rufus" the Hier. gets confuseing...
is that intended cuz both were named William?

btw if hes from Normandy and Anjou shouldnt be Anjou owned by england?
afaik, wiliam had a couple french nobles alongside hm when he invaded england wich held aprox 40% of the french country, wich lead to the 100 year war etc, as is there is only normandy in france under english controll.
if its because of game balance its fine..i was only mentioning it for historical reasons. I do not have the exact numbers or provinces tho.

Anjou was acquired far after 1080 through marriages. In 1080 they just controlled Normandy and far from the 40% of France.

Second, on my first campaign, I got this CTD with saved games. Every saved game I try to load, causes a blackscreen.
It occured, when I made a quicksave, then left the campain, was in a hurry, so didn´t quit the game. When I was back on my computer, I tried to go on with my campain when the blackscreen occured. After that no chance to load any of them.

    Some more info:

Year: 1100, fought 2 battles against rebels sieging my towns ...
... :hmmm: don´t think that those infos really help, eh ?

Whatever, will use the edited campaign_script.txt on my next campaign.

Btw., do you think theire will be a way to use the "lost/corupted" savegames anyhow?

2 systemlogs attached, if this can help (german version):
I got the same problem, and did the same thing.

I have to start a brand new campaign?

I have had 2 seperate campaigns both crap out on me around 1110 AD. A campaign as Spain, using the old script. And a campaign as Venice using the newer script.

1110 AD is the last loadable save in my Spanish campaign. Any saves that were made after it or, are created by loading the 1110 save playing a few turns and saving, are unloadable. They result in an unending black screen with hourglass that can't be exited by any means including alt+F4 or ctrl+alt+del, only a hard reset works.

The venetian campaign is in the winter of 1110 AD and crashes while processing Byzantium's turn. Even going back to a previous save (summer 1110 AD) and running two turns results in the same crash at the same point, middle of Byzantium's turn.

I mention both cases because from the log files they seem to have the same cause. The last line in both is [system.io] [warning] open: models_strat/character_pontus.rum is missing.

Is there a scripted event whereby a character named Pontus is supposed to appear around 1110 AD. Most likely in Trapezous (NE Turkey) that is currently owned by Byzantium. If so it would seem that there exists a bug around this character.

This bug is especially frustrating as it has fubared two campaigns each of which had a lot of time invested. They were also both just starting to get good.

I really hope this information helps you chase down these CTD's as they are the only thing preventing me from enjoying your mod to the fullest.

    Appreciating your help.

character_pontus.rum is an old model still around from RTW legacy and anyway it's not the cause of the CTD unless you deleted your pack files (that I believe you didn't).

So the reason should be elsewhere and it's not so easy to trace as other players managed to progress beyond 1110 without problems.

Also usually an error with scripts, character names and similar produces the infamous "MTW2 has encountered an unexpected error..." not a freezing.

After messing with many mods and modifications I had strange errors coming out, mostrly due to conflicts in my game configuration values (the cfg file).

After a new installation of MTW2 they completely disappeared.

Still there are some savegame bugs in MTW2 itself (you can check the technical support forum to have hints about them) and I believe that mods like AD that increases the amount of data processed by the game could result in a higher probabilty of CTDs.

At the end, as many players experienced with complex strategic games like the Paradox EU2 series could confirm, the best strategy is to save often and with different save names.

    Default Loading Error

    LOADING ERROR.
Every time i am trying to load a save MTW returns an unspecific error. Unfortunately is nearly impossible to play like this.
Apart from that i like the idea of spending a whole campings in front of my computer without saving . But my girl will give me hard times if i do .

Does anyone has an idea how to solve? Already tried to search this thread... without success

Great Mod anyway . bought a new CPU (faster turns) for this mod only.

Save often, when you're ready to press the "next turn" button and most of all install AD over a fresh install of vanilla MTW2 so to avoid some files and configurations are messed because of other mods or something else.

A good defrag prior to installation helps a lot to make the game faster and safer too.

I recommend saving a series of 10 turns, and checking every 5 turns for a bad save. IE, on turn 5 after saving the game, reload that saved game, if it works continue playing, if it doesn't work, start checking previous saved games.

Some indications I have found that mean the saved game MAY be bad are: the green movement path line for an AI controlled stack does not vanish or at the start of your turn you get 2 events that automatically open and both require a reply (such as one of RB's events and an offer of marriage)

Actually I had plenty of those and my savegames didn't corrupt but anyway your suggestions about saving every 5-10 turns are good (I learnt them the hard way after wasting a 200 years long campaign on Crusader Kings).

Actually, I save at the end of every turn. I merely check to make sure I haven't got a corrupted saved file every 5 to 10. Hopefully, you will be able to pin down what is causing the CTD's if it is something from within the mod, or hopefully CA will if it's related to their base coding.
