    Faction rosters and buildings are under complete redesign. For example barracks won't be needed anymore for recruitment, they'll give other bonuses like an additional recruitment slot and some experience bonus (more realistic in my opinion). I cannot be more precise because I have to test the system and see how it works, but it also should help the AI immensely.

    ive encountered the same problem. after about 10 years the saves go corrupt.

    ive had the same error with 3 factions.
    the system log is always the same

    Please keep the other threads clean, this is the thread where to post bug reports.

    From that system log very little can be said as it just gives the usual warnings and nothing else.

    Hi there- New Forum Member here- I have to say GREAT MOD- it's the entire reason I signed up for the forums!

    I too have had trouble with loading Autosaves. I still am able to load manualy saved games (not quicksave) but I am only about 25 turns into the game.

    No autosave has been able to load since about turn 10. But I just save at the end of every turn. Save early and often!

    Thanks so much for this mod... Your efforts are greatly enjoyed (even with much loss of sleep!)

    I have my save files from the last CTD / unspecified error. I've now had it 4 times. After the first time I completely removed the install which was a new install with only your mod and TLR addon. I've reinstalled and its happened now 3 times since then with only your mod. Was hoping it was the texture addon but doesn't appear to be. I have the quicksave and autosave that don't load if your interested...

    Attach your save files here using the clip button and I'll try to see what's wrong with them.

    Can't upload them here. Invalid file then compressed with best as zip it is still to big at 1.08mb.

    here is a quick save that crashes on me

    the only other mods i use are burreks texture mods wich should not interfier with your mod.

    I loaded it without any problem. I'm starting to suspect something... did any of you that experimenting these CTDs are using burrek's textures?

    No... I have gone from straight vanilla to AD... nothing else loaded...

    WAIT... Ok... I did change the Turn counter (to 2 turns a year) and unlocked all factions when I first got the game, but that is the only change.

    I don't know if its just my computer, but the AI takes very long turns.

    Hope this helps. I've totally uninstalled deleted folders and emptied recycle bin then reinstalled the game. Updated to 1.1. Installed AD .93. Started the game via your bat to create the preferences and save game folders and then exited and copied the problem saved games into save folder. Restarted the game and both caused the CTDs on this new install.

    The previous install was the same that created the problem saved games. No other mods installed. Clean install and AD. I've emailed the two problem saved games to you.

    Hmmm I think I found out the problem and it's not so fearsome as I imagined.

    Pratically the savegames were created while a script was executing so the game (:irony_on: very cleverly :irony_off) didn't wait for the script to end but saved just in the middle. Of course when loaded the script wasn't complete and it lacked all the previous stuff then BOOM.

    I bet that the corruption linked to the battles, they were started by the AI

    Well, we learned another thing the hard way...

    For the moment I suggest to save while you're into your turn, next version I'll disable saving while scripts are running.

    Just a note RB, I save my games prior to any important decision/battle and at the end of every turn. I also cycle these, in other words, I have save games AD1 through AD9 and then go back through the cycle. I will reload a saved game if I do not like the results or I am testing certain choices to see how they play out.

    With my CTD's only coming only through a saved game, are you implying that a scripted event has remained incomplete over the course of several turns?

    On a side note, you have stated and others have observed that the game plays slower as there are so many things the AI is checking on. Would the game play any better if we unpacked the files albeit for a trade off in harddrive space?

    Examining the save games I receveid I saw as first game action scripted commands which are in the middle of complex scripts.

    For example there's a script, which should run at the start of the rebel turn, that spawns an army and then makes it attack another army.
    Well, there's the attack command (which causes the crash) but the spawning isn't, this means that the savegame was created in the middle of the execution of that script.
    The other, a lot worse, probability is that the game doesn't save the campaign script correctly. I hope it isn't the case, I really hope so...

    No, it would be slower (this is what CA says at least)

    If you're referring to my saved games sent one was a quicksave the other an autosave. The quick save was 4 or 5 minutes after the AI completed its turn. ie 4 or 5 minutes time stamp from the autosave which makes the quicksave in the middle of my turn. Just wonder if a script was still running and I hit ctrl s which was 4 or 5 minutes after the AI's turn ended which would indicate a script that was supposed to end before the autosave but never ended possibly?
