How to allow a faction (ie, Arnor) to build some units from a different faction (ie, Gondor)
I'm sure this has been asked before, so links to other threads would be great but also any advice.
The main problem I'm having is that the Gondor units (after being built by Arnor) appear all silver on the battlefield (no textures?).
Here is what I've done:
1. Edited the units in export_descr_unit to add arnor (Byzantine) to the ownership line.
2. Edited the buildings in export_descr_buildings to allow Arnor to build the units.
At this point, I could build the units but they had Peasant cards and were all silver.
3. Copied the Gondor UI information on cards to the Arnor folder.
At this point, they now have cards that show properly. They work everywhere EXCEPT on the battlefield.
I tried duplicating the Gondor textures folder in the Arnor folder, but that's obviously not enough. Still not working.
Thanks for any help!

I know this is a bit late, but anyway... Is the unit in question in export_descr_unit pointing to a valid model? Because that is all I can think of. Maybe you copied it to a new slot or somehow otherwise changed it. Does it work fine as is when you try it with Gondor still?
I just tested out some changes to DaC by doing exactly these three things, and they work in battle as well as on screen.

This is the wrong section for this kind of matter, thus missed, but here are two tutorials in the Mod Workshop:
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...nother-faction
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...r-new-factions
Two tips:
1) ALWAYS back up before editing any file
2) Use Notepad++ instead of normal Notepad, it's a freeware avilable here: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.5.6.html
For further questions, either bring them up in the Workshop, or in the modding thread for TATW: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...nd-Help-Thread
Good luck!
