    You said:

Racism has not disappeared [because?] the racial achievement gaps are ridiculously enormous, the wealth gap is even worse, the unenemployment is even worse, graduation is worse, salary for the same position is worse, incarceration is worse so on and so forth. A white highschool drop out has the same rate of employment as a black college graduate for christ's sake.
So those things aren't caused by racism?

Nice out of context "quote" there. You missed the important part and connect clauses which make little sense without the intervening portion.

Racism needn't be intentional. However it's inescapable fact that for over 180 years in this country it was entirely intentional. There's over a third of our population who existed when it was not only intentional but also legally supported and institutionalized. Now when you respond to that and say, Choose to read a book. You've now dismissed the validity of the problem on the basis of choice pushing the narrative that blacks have chosen to be less competent and thus the problem is their own. This is both ignorant and prevents the legacies of racism from being undone.

The reason why black people do worse in reading, is the same reason poor whites do worse in reading. It comes back to wealth. The wealth gap of blacks is mostly about intergenerational wealth in which black families prior to the 1960's did not share even the remotest possibility of equal opportunity with their white counterparts. The wealth gap was established by racism but I'm not talking about active racism orchestrated by people today. I'm not speaking of a secret white conspiracy, I'm merely talking about historical reality.

Racism 1. Does exist, has existed and will likely continue to exist Racism 2. has contributed to numerous issues within diverse demographics The legacy of Racism 3. survives mostly because folks like you pretend reason 1 and 2 aren't real therefor intervention doesn't matter.

Of course this all revolves around you claiming Racism doesn't exist because you were attempting to say Trump isn't a racist. Who knows whether Trump is truly a racist or not. He's definitely said and done racist things.

For the fourth time. It's the same reason why poor white folks do worse than rich white folks at reading.

Unless you believe there's a conspiracy to keep poor white folks from reading I'm not sure what your difficulty here is.
So again, what is that reason?

What does wealth have to do with it? Eastern Europeans and East Asians are mcuh poorer than black Americans, but still rate higher in education. They are materially poor but rich in mind.

The reason rich children fare better in life and education isn't because they inherited wealth. It's because they inherited good habits and relevant knowledge from their parents. Poor children on the other hand, inherit absolute ignorance and bad habits. For children raised right, it's more difficult to do the bad thing than the right thing. Habits are tough to go against.

However if your will is strong enough, you can break the cycle of ignorance and pass onto your children knowledge and good habits, instead of the ignorance and bad habits that your parents passed onto you. People can be forced into poor circumstances by external factors, but usually remaining in those circumstances is at least partially their fault.

There's literally thousands of books containing all kinds of knowledge. There's absolutely nothing stopping people from reading them. The only thing stopping them from doing it is their own lack of willpower. There's an old saying, "whether you think you can't, or can, you are right."

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And you are not going to increase their willpower by telling them they're faultless. Willpower can be increased by confidence in your ability to chart your own path in life, instead of attributing everything to external causes. Blaming everyone else for your circumstances and waiting for them to fix everything for you, is a great recipe for an unfulfilled and unlived life. But if you organize with other people who think like you, you might be able to get the government to give you free stuff occasionally, as long as you vote D.
