Is it possible to win through subjugation?

Hi team,

I was just curious...For my next campaign (I think I will play again as Athens). Is it possible bring about a victory through subjugation.
Just to reflect a more historically accurate campaign - I would prefer not to conquer Korinthos, Sparta, Thebes, etc.
Does subjugation bring enough benefit instead of occupying all of Greece before attacking Persia?

Anyway yes it is but I think eventually you will need to go to war with some of them. In some cases scripted war occures but mostlynot for athens. An example is the automated war between Sparta, Elis, Argos and other Athenina allies after Alkibiadis diplomatic tricks following the end of Argive truce
